It's up to you, really. The Blu Ray verson of ROTF was on sale at Wal-Mart for $13.00, and it looks neat. Though I do prefer the dvd myself since you can watch it pretty much at everyone's house.

Since you have no Blu-ray DVD player, I'd go with the normal DVD release.

I would recommend the switch to Blu-Ray. Since you already have the TV for it, it just makes the most since. And if you're a gamer it makes a lot of since to get a new PS3.

    So, yeah, go Blu-Ray.

No question, definitely Blu. I can't stand to watch DVDs anymore, they're the new VHS.

It doesn't matter unless your TV is huge. Upscaling DVD FTW.

    Completely agree with you.

TF1 on Bluray vs 1080i upconverted DVD on my 32" Vizio that's 720p... meh, Bluray is slightly better. On my 46" 1080p Samsung, the differences are obvious, especially in TF2.

Exactly. It seems some people erroneously think that you have the highest technology available to enjoy something, when in reality it all depends on your setup. OMG BUYZ TEH BLUERAYZ FER COOLNES is not a compelling argument, sorry.

I'd consider those big TVs and would go for Bluray. I have a 30" HDTV and it's hard to tell the difference for anything over 720p. At 48", I bet you could tell.

Gotta agree with M^3 again. If the 48" TV is a 1080p HDTV then you'll notice a difference with the Bluray version, especially if you're sitting within 15 feet.

Forgot to mention, I only have a 26-inch LCD HD TV (which is perfect for where I sit and watch TV) and I can definitely notice a difference between Blu-ray and DVD.

    Just sayin'... :confused2

Truth. I own The Notebook on Blu-ray. It's the only acceptable way to see it.
