I'm considering painting the wheels on my Alternity Black Convoy, black. What do my board brothers and sisters think?

Unless you dislike it the way it is, I wouldn't. Obviously you'll knock the toy's value down- which may or may not be a big deal.

At the end of the day (assuming you have the skills and know how to do it nicely- and if you aren't positive you do, I'd learn on a less expensive toy) the real question is how do you want your toy to be?

If you're unsure enough that you're looking for our feedback, then I'd leave it the way it is.

Just make sure you feel good about your choice, what ever it is.

I say no. That is if I owned I likely wouldn't. That is to say from what I've seen I like the way it is.

If you can match the colour, are confident in your ability and don't mind lowering future resale value, I say why not? If you think it would look better, go for it.

No. Sliver wheels are classic. Murdered out is played out. You will regret it when the "everything color matched" style has long since faded.

If you have the skills and experience in repainting action figures, then go ahead. If not, practice on something inexpensive until you feel comfortable enough to do it on your Alternity.

I actually don't think repainting the wheels (if you do a flawless job on them) will hurt the resale value. Depending on how it comes out, you could get back what you paid originally, if not more. That's the beauty with custom repaints: you can touch-up or completely repaint a toy and its value might skyrocket.

okay , I have a question for you to answer yours,

Do you see your self selling Alternity Black Convoy?

If you do then don't paint it especially if you have to admit to your self that your painting skills aren't what you would like them to be.

If don't then go for it as long as you are sure you can paint the wheels to your satisfaction.

No as most other Black Optimus & Convoys don't have black wheels - it wouldn't match - and the only Transformer I like black hubs on is Barricade.

You know what would be cool?

If you painted the hubs black and highlighted the border teal. Think Animated Soundwave.
