    Ebay:
Ok, nothing is for sale right now so don't bug me with those stupid "Will you take blah blah for so and so?" questions, now, I'm thinking about ridding myself of the Transformers, and the shipping will be between 200-300 lbs, I was wondering what a modest price would be of the collection listed at the bottom if I was to sell it as one lot, either on ebay or elsewhere. Any help would be aprreciated:

While I honestly have no idea, if you're selling to get money, you'd definitely want to break it down, if not sell individually. You can get a whole lot more money that way, even if you just broke it down into by series, as opposed to all together. Either way it's going to be hell to ship, i'd imagine that smaller packages, while requiring more work, would cause you a lot less stress in the long run.

If I do sell it I'm going to wait until October to see if I can get the collection to be even completer than it is, while addng a couple more Masterpieces, and Clear BT Mirage to the bunch, hopefully by October, I'll have added another 171(finishing off American G1-Armada, and adding BT Clear Mirage, and MP-05&06)

Please don't piss your money away on adding toys to the lot, if that is how your going to sell it. You'll see a maybe a %25 return on your money aka You spending a $100 may yeild an extra $25 for the lot. I guarantee you'll lose more than you gain.

all that, that must at least be worth a grand or two.

how ever, you'd make more money, selling them seperately.

You're waaaaaaaaaaaay off on the shipping weight, though - I have to say that.

I echo breaking it down (I say into at least 3 auction)s - start with a .99 cent opening bid and no reserve.

I betcha he's not off on the weight. I had more than 500 figures when I had to move them. probably somewhere near 20 boxes, each one definitely weighing 10 pounds each, so 200 lbs is right on the money. especially if you want the boxes big enough to have lots of padding so nothing gets broken.

    Absolutely on this!!!!

You are not going to get a premium for trying to make this more complete. Far from it. A collection that large & expensive sold as a single lot will require a DEEP discount to sell to a single buyer.

You are not going to find a collector who happens to need everything on that list and is willing/capable of paying top dollar. What you will find are dealers who are willing to cut you a fair sized check with the plans of them making a profit by breaking the collection down and selling in parts for top dollar.

I know it seems like alot of work, but you should definitely break it up. You will probably make 2-3 times more money then selling it as a lot. We are talking about thousands of dollars. If you simply post the list hear I am sure you will be able to sell it easier then through ebay and such. Although you may make alot more on ebay it requires alot more work.

Break that list down, and I wholeheartedly agree that adding to your collection only to sell it a couple months later is a bad idea. That's pissing your money down the drain, as if selling it all in one shot isn't doing that on its own in some ways.
