I've been trying to finish out my Japanese Pretender collection {Masterforce obsession FTW! :D  } lately and found a good price on Phoenix at BBTS. However, they also has a boxed Gilmer up for sale too - high C8, low C9 condition - for $85. I've tried a couple of other reputable places but I'm unable to find it there, so I have no comparison. Does anyone else know of a good price for this toy?

Wish I could help man, but I will impart some wisdom. If you see a piece you kinda like, DON'T post where you found it. There are plenty of fans out there who might jump on the deal and snatch it from under you. Can't be too careful! We are technically all competing against one another for sweet, sweet plastic!

I'm not really sure what the jpn pretenders go for, but I've always found BBTS's prices for vintage to be anywhere from slightly high to bordering on batshit insanely high.

I've always said that an item is only worth what I'm willing to pay for it. Regardless of market price. This sadly is why there are alot of Transformers I may never own.

In that mindset, if I have to question the price, it's too high.

True that! I often od the same. But you certainly don't have to post the site where you found the price. Just post the price and ask if it's decent. See?

Masterforce versions of Wave 1 pretenders aren't that 'hot' IIRC, 85 seems a bit high... with a bit of patience, i think you could manage it for maybe 50-60.

i suck at getting good deals.
