    Note to Hollywood:

Leave the old-school alone. We don't need anymore stupid-bombing remakes. Go
    back to do original films.

Why does that movie need remaking already? I can already see a CGI version of Johnny-5 replacing the original that was perfect...

A remake of Short Circuit is as pointless as a remake of ET...They need to focus on We3 instead. Now THERE lays potential.

A story about 3 animals (dog, cat, rabbit) who were turned into living weapons by the US government, but who manage to escape and go in search of a 'home', though they aren't sure of what it is; they just know it's a place where they don't have to run anymore.

But don't be fooled by that plot summary. The comic itself really was heartwrenching, and it had a LOT of gore. And an early script review really did sound promising.

    The Wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We3

    EDIT: Found said script review.http://www.filmick.co.uk/2007/04/script-review-grant-morrisons-we3.html

Poor form Hollywood. Poor, poor form... :(

They're going to have to go all CGI for Johnny because as far as I know, they destroyed all the robots doing SC2. The only one left is the Gold Johnny, and he is in a museum. Unless they have the budget to make them from scratch again - and if that happens, there's no way he's gonna be the same.

Well, lets hope they don't remake this. And if they do, Gutenberg FTW!

Another film that I can tell my children "No, you don't understand, this isn't the first one" when they want to see it.

Eh, I don't see why they'd remake that. Whatever though.

And whatever they come up with, either rebuilding or CGI'ing Johnny Five, there's no way it'll have the emotion that the original was able to pull off. That was damn near remarkable.

For the love of god, please do not remake this movie. The originals were great. If you need to, go for a sequel. Only if you get Mr. Guttenburg back though. And a cameo for Mr. Danson & Mr. Selleck. I smell a crossover here.

They should have stopped after Short Circuit 1. No Guttenberg, no deal.
