So I'm looking for some info.....

I posted this first in the Brave thread thinking there was a link there, apparently not. I really need to learn me some vintage robot stuff. Anyhoo....

I want to by one of those Robotech Cyclones/Ride Armours. I've seen the toynami masterpiece and the MegaHouse ones which are amazing but very expensive and I'd rather keep those sort of funds for Auto Assembly 2011.

So I've seen the ones from CM which do look pretty cool except for all those dirty big screws. Besides said screws how are they? I've heard they're much more toy like than the ones MegaHouse do but how far does that go? Do they feel cheap? Poorly made?

Probably thinking of the Saber one, just for the better looking colours and torso design.

    Yeah,

I was on a Mospeada fix myself for awhile but the price of importing those things, either from MegaHouse, CM or Beagle (which sadly ceased their masterpiece line) are killer.

The CM ones are tiny, Megahouse is ok, if you want the definitive ride armor then you have to go with the Toynami/Beagle version.

I have a Megahouse version as well as one Beagle. The Beagle one is wonderful but the legs were fashioned rather thin and not wider like most other Ride Armors are.

    Reeeeeeeposting.

Don't even THINK of touching any of the CM's ones other than Yellow/Lancer. Even though it's the best of the lot, it's still fiddly as hell and a borderline mess. I wouldn't call any of the CM's or Megahouse ride armors "toy like" at all - more like super fiddly model kits that someone's put together for you - Imagine masterpiece level transformation in something the size of a GI Joe.

If you want a Ride Armor/Cyclone, you have to get one of the Toynami Masterpiece/Beagle versions. Yes, they seem expensive, but they're utterly unmatched in every way and totally worth it. If you get any of the smaller versions, you'll just be unhappy with them.

Beagle stuff will be pretty expensive. And you've only got two models to choose from (Stick or Ley).

People say a Fuke/Rook was already in the works and a proto was made. All gone now...

The masterpiece cyclones also have great cross-over potential!

I'm very pleased with my Megahouse/Toynami cyclone. I just picked up Rand for only $30.00 at NJCC. So now I have him and Scott Bernard. :D

The CMs toys look the best to me, but the transformation is quite assy. I haven't touched the thing in two years if that says anything...

Consensus generally points toward the Beagle/Toynami as being the best Ride Armor of the lot. My favorite is still the big old Gakken one, but I'm an old man so don't listen to me. :p

I'd love a super retro one, I saw a review of one and was fairly blown away.

I think I'll just bite the bullet and save for the Toynami one. They only have the one right? I really like the look of the Saber version but alas.

Thanks for all the info guys!

No Beagle (aka Masterpiece Cyclone). No care.

Too bad we'll never get Houquet's or the Blowsuperior

    Son I am dissapoint. :(

Great figure but really just a display piece for me. Can't really rotate the wheels without parts falling and coming apart.
