I'm in the process of restoring a G1 Megatron and need some help. I stripped the already badly worn chrome plating and base coat on some parts and will be sending them to Chrome Tech USA. I just need to remove the capped pin on the die-cast hinge on Megs barrel. I already tried a soldering iron and it didn't work. Is there any other method on removing this pin?

Already saw that vid and tried it myself and it didn't work. I even asked the guy if it would work and he didn't have a G1 Megatron to test it on.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm unable to send you a message pg52282. Did you happen to find a way to remove that pin? I'm trying to do the exact same thing but am having no luck.

Hi. No prob and I apologize for the late answer. I wasn't able to remove it and decided to give up.  I'm trying to find the torso without the barrel and the metal hinge by itself
