Hi all, well I bought a 600.00 Transformer on ebay recently. I went to the bank on my lunch break today to go deposit 600.00 cash to my account. 500.00 was in 20 bills and 100.00 in a 100.00 bill. I forgot to add the 100.00 bill into the 500.00 mix. I thought the total was already 600.00 The banker didnt catch the mistake either even though he counted the bills himself. Will they eventually find out the 100.00 is missing? He printed out my bank receipt and it says that I deposited 600.00 Anybody know?
anybody have any clue on how the bank runs? will they automatically change to the actual deposit of 500.00?
that someone is me. I accidently gave him a hundred short but the teller did not catch the mistake either. Will they eventually find out? my statment printed out does say 600.00 and the teller counted the money himself. So technically there is a hundred short in his drawer.
Do the right thing and return to the bank and explain to them the mistake. If you don't then I'm sure the teller will be audited for the shortage. This will save you the worry of what will happen, and save the teller from a possible disciplinary action from the bank.
but what if i found out later that I was the one that made the mistake and indeed gave him 600.00 I had so many 20.00 bills but I am quite sure I did give him the 100.00 short. But then again he counted it himself to. What I am wondering is if he placed my deposited money alone aside from all other transactions he has throughout the day. Then it would be obvious and would catch the mistake later on. Or the money is just mixed like a cash register at the market.
You make my head hurt. I'm not sure I've seen such wishy-washy, indecisive posts before. Ignoring the whole "this doesn't really belong in TFGD" part, or the "excessively double-posting within minutes" part, why would you be complaining about taking money from the bank, only to start wondering if you were wrong about the mistake in the first place? And post it on a message board?! Go to the bank, ask if there was a mistake first. You'll be covered in either situation.
Gesh you're going in circles. First you wrote you didn't give him the $100, but now you aren't sure if you actually did or didn't ?. You also wrote you had 20x $20 and 1x$100 but forgot to give the $100 ! Go to the bank and sort it out there. They can check if they're $100 short or not.
well if there was a mistake which I am pretty sure the bank is short a hundred would they catch it and if they do would they reverse it? everyting as of now on paper and computer says 600 deposited but the money itself is 500.00 in the drawer anybody used to be a bank teller? It was washington mutual by the way
Dude seriously ! we're not the bank. Go to the bank an explain it to them, they can help you... the more time you use here worrying, less chance you have to get to the bank and sort it out!.
Maybe bold helps? GO TO THE BANK AND ASK THEM YOURSELF. WE ARE NOT A BANK. I went with bold and caps for the added touch. Who wants to make it BIG when he doesn't get it this time?
you are right. but i am at work right now and i cant leave. thats why I am asking if anyone has experience the way the bank system works.
i want to do it in person. i dont remember the tellers name. or i can just wait and see if there will be an automatic adjustment on my account. either way it aint my fault the teller was not paying attention. if anything he put both of us in a weird situation.
