Hello guys, I need a list (and description if it's posible) of names of all members for the 3 Superlink/Energon Combiners, both American and Japanese names. Thanks a lot!
After doing a little digging... (Superlink names on left) Bruticus = Bruticus Maximus Onslaught = Barricade Blast Off = Blackout Brawl = Kickback Volter = Stormcloud Swindle = Blight Superion = Superion Maximus Afterburner = Storm Jet Air Rider = Treadshot Fire Bolt = Windrazor Sling = Sky Shadow Skydive = Terradive Buildron = Constructicon Maximus Scavenger = Steamhammer Long Haul = Duststorm Scrapper = Sledge Bonecrusher = Bonecrusher Glen = Wideload (isn't "Glen" some mis-romanization of the japanese name?)
That's the errors from going from English to Japanese and back. The Gestalts in Superlink all used the original G1 names. With Glen = Hook as I recall. (Vortex, Air raid, Slingshot, etc) However, the thing to note was that in the Superlink cartoon, they weren't gestalts as we think of them; in the plot, they had been in Gestalt mode so long there was only one mind, and when they dis-assembled they stayed as one mind in multiple bodies; all the individual identities had been wiped out after having been fused and dormant for so long.
have you ever seen the lists of the japanese names though? lol or the HK dubs of them? lol I remember one of the autobots, like blaster or something, was Chuck lol but original hook's name is glen too. edit: let's see, we got, Glen, Windy, Joe, Alen, and finally Rod, as odd weird transformer names, that i've been able to find
Billy - Blaster Wally - Blurr From Headmasters was when I first saw them. Also, I did wonder during Energon why the combiners never were in the seperate robot forms, oh well, guess it would have been too expensive to make 6 new character models.
Apparently cranes were first called "Guren" in Japan. (Now it's "kure-n") Funny choice of a name still, though.
lol Wally and Billy....that dub is so sad it's funny...when I first heard those names, I thought I had heard wrong, but, nope, it's just that bad.
