ok, A/E/C got dubbed the Unicron trilogy, so what should we dub the original trilogy (headmaster/masterforce/victory)?

i know, "what about zone?" that was one episode, i think i'll just sqeeze it in with victory for the time being to make it 3 nice even series

for a generic name, yes, but i think we should come up with a catchy name for it, like the unicron trilogy

Well the box set says "Takara Collection", suits me fine.
    Takara trilogy seems logical then.

I've always seen it referred to as simply "Japanese Generation 1"

Although the whole "Transformers Takara" "Takara Collection" is the only official name the shows have ever had, so Takara Trilogy is a good fit. Can't fault Obsidian X's logic there.

    it's not a trilogy.

because you're leaving out two series. Transformers, and Transformers 2010.

The three japanese exclusive series are not self-contained. it's one long ongoing story made of five series. so they are not a trilogy. that'd be like calling Terminator 2, 3, and Salvation a trilogy.

there a trilogy in the sense that Star Wars IV, V, and VI are called the original trilogy, even though the full story is 6 movies

you could say the original parts, Transformers, Movie/Scramble City, and Transformers 2010 are the first trilogy

I'd call them the "Masters Trilogy." Each series featured subgroups ending in *master. Headmasters had Headmasters and Targetmasters. Masterforce had Headmaster Juniors and Godmasters. Victory featured Brainmasters, Breastmasters, and Micromasters (Microns), and if we decide to include Zone as the endcap to Victory, it featured the Powered Masters as well.

    I nominate The Masters Trilogy.

"God on!" "Head on!" "Target on!" There definetly was alot of Masters , and alot of shouts other than "Transform!". "Suit on!" "Pretender"! "Transform!" Its not easy being a Japaneese Transformer. Who knows how they remember evereytthing they need to say just to transform. It never made secre to me why they did all that in Jaapan. Whats wrong with just "Transform!". Err, sorry for tyhat rant. Blame my Autism.

    Masters Trilogy sounds logical.

Some people refer to Star Trek 2, 3, and 4 as a trilogy.

"J-TF Cartoon" As I call it to seperate continuities. This consists of Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory and Zone.... and I guess Scramble City if you wanna be picky.

Masters Trilogy sounds good to me. Can't argue with that. Makes a whole lot of sense instead of just being called a really long name.
