Doesn't McDonalds locations still have Nintendo 64s in them? I swear it feels like it was just a few years ago that I took my step son into a McDonalds and he was playing one.
Yes I agree. Without the Rare titles it's hard for me to see how it could really be a N64. I'm hoping GameCube games will be offered via VC on Switch instead. Yeah. I liked it but it was probably the least conventional "conventional" controller ever made. Tons of people seemed to not understand the best way to hold it depending on what games they were playing.
Even if it comes out I wont be able to get one because scalpers buying them all up. Also I wonder If nintendo will try to get the rare games form ms?
nope. US mcdonalds used to have big, plastic arcade machines with consoles built into them. it cycled through n64, ps2 (when i was a kid, it was spyro) and i don't know what else. they took em out years ago though.
Apparently there are still McDonalds out there that still have Nintendo 64s in them: I stumbled upon a McDonalds with a Nintendo 64 setup. I'm mildly entertained... • r/retrogaming
Not familiar with the that era of gaming,so correct me if I'm wrong on some of these. Super Mario 64 Paper Mario Donkey Kong Country 64 Diddy Kong Racing Mario Sunshine Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door Pokemon Snap Pokemon Stadium Hey You Pikachu Smash Bros. Kirby and the Crystal Shards Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask Star Fox 64 Animal Crossing Obviously most of Rare's library is out. Not interested really. They're not handling any of the mini classics right, so why should I bother?
The N64 version of Diddy Kong Racing has Rare characters in it, Sunshine and Thousand Year Door are Gamecube games, Hey You uses a microphone peripheral, Stadium isn't likely because of the GB transfer stuff and N64 Animal Crossing never left Japan. If you want to know the likely pool of games, just look up whats available on VC on Wikipedia. N64 emulation is an eldritch nightmare compared to the previous two platforms and they aren't going to be pulling anything new out of the hat for one of these things unless they are already prepping it for Switch.
Last Year's N64 Trademark Has Finally Been Approved, N64 Mini On The Way? Sorry to bump this thread, but I figured this may be important for those of us who are hoping for an N64 Classic. May seem like perfect timing given Sony JUST announced the PS1 Classic.
I still have my N64 with a TON of games, so I'll be passing on this. Most of the games that I played probably wouldn't be included anyway due to licensing issues. If I ever feel the need for a polygon people fix, I need only look to my closet.
