Good, I hate karaoke, it should be abolished.

It's not fair to the bar owner, though.

I DID read the article.. I know that it is the composer organization and not RIAA. I'm just saying groups like the RIAA and ASCAP need to be destroyed..

So what happens if a bar plays a cd, and drunks in the bar start to singalong? Can the bar then be sued?

If the CD is in the jukebox, then it needs to be liscenced, so no.

If somebody is just playing it over the PA system, then yes, probably. At least, according to the sons-of-bitches ASCAP.

So basically every bar in America that doesn't have a jukebox and plays music could be sued. How absolutely fucking retarded these ass caps are.

    He he... ass caps.

Probably depends on how its being played. If its through a radio system or perhaps sattelite system it should be fine.

I wonder how much trouble a person could get in for recording unlicensed Karoake songs and putting them on the internet as an MP3 so people could illegally download them.

    I bet a lot.

One of the Albany, NY bars had a similar issue when live performers would play "licensed" material. They ended up only hiring acoustic acts without any amps, mics or speakers...so that they could avoid the "public performance" licensing fees. Since acts were paid under the table, there was no papertrail either.

Slimy, probably not legal, everyone knew what was going on, but they got away with it.

I hope Bumblebee is taking note of this. You hear that little guy? Be sure to license the songs you play before you play them on your radio.

Starscream shoots a fatal laser blast towards Spike

Shia Lebeouf "Noooooooooo, runs and dives into a hole"

Starscream "You won't get away that quickly, fleshling" Transforms into monster mode with talons and shoots out his talon into the hole

Bumblebee valiantly jumps in front of Spike and if fatally wounded

Spike "Bumbebee, nooooooo! You silly fool. I love you."

Bumblebee begins to play "Don't cry for me Argentina"

Suddenly ASCAP lawyers rappel down ropes from the ASCAP copter and begin suing Bumblebee

Michael Bay pans to a panoramic of the ASCAP lawyers waving flags as the national anthem is played

    The End
