Tober, my girlfriend's one-year-old gray kitten, was hanging out on my bed this evening. I was in my chair a few feet away, transforming HA Skids into car mode. When I put Skids down on the bed, Tober immediately moved away to the far side. Curious, I poked Skids toward Tober, who leapt, bristled, and hissed at the car. Please understand: Tober is a one-year-old rambunctious kitten, who is not only very playful but is nearly fearless and, until now, doesn't EVER hiss or yowl. For the next half hour or so, my girlfriend and I experimented with other figures, admittedly confused as to Tober's issue. OTHER FIGURES DON'T DO IT. He's fine as long as Skids is out of sight. The second Skids is in the room, Tober locks eyes on him and stays away. Once, he even batted at Skids and hissed again! Is it the shade of green? Is it the shape? Is it a natural feline aversion to racist slapstick comic relief? If so, would a Jar-Jar Binks figure cause him to run away from home? Any answers or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
