hi here is a my work in progress g1 megatron. I started work on this custom as I really wanted a good megatron but havnt got the cash to get the masteriece one and had two brocken g1 megatrons lying around un-used and figured it would be a fun challenge to have a go at making my own for free. Ive still got a bit of work to do on it the area conecting the tummy and chest area needs to be sanded down and resculpted. Some parts of the handle need to be made into better shapes and I need to paint some areas to finnish.

I know it will never be as good as the masterpiece megatron but I would love to know what you think of what I have achieved so far. This is my first ever work in progress post when it is finished do I edit this thread or do I start a new thread for the finished custom?

thanks for viewing and any feedback

thats my biggest concern about it, ive sanded that head down loads to try and make it smaller but its reaching a point on the top sides of the forehead were if I go any further the plastic is gonna cave in. I might sand sides of the lower sides of the head down further to see if that improves the overall size of the head. if it still looks a little too big I might consider looking for a smaller head to sculpt on but im really in two minds at the moment

Yeah, but that's the bigger sized one. The one I mentioned was about half that size

If you've got two, id use both sets of lower legs to make the legs thicker, and go with a smaller head. If your using greenstuff already maybe get some more practice and sculpt your own head, there are tutorials for it everywhere.

I kinda like the look of that head, too large or not. The size of it does not hinder transformation, right? If not, go with it.

but if he wants good proportions he should go with the smaller head. This just looks like a dude is a perfect Megatron costume with a really oversized mask and helmet.. I like where this is going, no doubt, but it definitely needs some refinement. Keep up the good work though man :thumb

yeah that purple meg world be ideal. I just had a little glance on ebay and sadly it dont come cheap. im not sure if it had the same head but I think they rereleased that mould but yellow and called it bludgeon around about armada era that would work out a little cheaper. I just gave this head a major sanding in every dimension which is possible and I think its starting to look a little more accurate. I cant quite tell if its just wishfull thinking tho what do you lot think?
