If you get 2 rights let me know, we could swap
Was thinking of dying the parts black, the using a blue paint i found that matches really well, spray over the big sections. Should give some nice contrast
Here are my choices
A few words of caution:
The Navy blue is definetely going to be way to dark. The dark colors tend have overpowering pigments.
I'd say your safest bet is the Denim blue - either by itself or mixed with a tiny bit of that Royal blue.
( the longer submerged in the dye bath, the darker it gets )
Also, do keep in mind this is all-purpose dye. It will take to the Shapeways material, but it's not like their Rit Dye More line, which is specifically made for synthetic fibres like Nylon. ( which Shapeways is )
I'm going to my craft store later to see what I can find.
Looks like the got me too.
Aren't mine rights?
Yep, they got us mixed up. Mine was in blue though. They are sending me a replacement though through shapeways. Knoted was a big help. If you wanna swap lmk, but if you're planning to dye the parts it may come out uneven. Wow, that was one hell of a goof up on them! Btw, the model master gts blue pearl lacquer spray paint is really close to the blue plastic on the figure. After handling the parts, I don't think rubbing will be an issue
Please provide me your order number and I'll have Shapeways correct this for you - alternatively, I can request a full refund for you so you could get a set in Blue Strong Flexible Polished instead. (Or a similar solution)
Yesterday, I encountered a model error in my shop, but I knew it could not be my Stl. file at fault, so I contacted Shapeways; they responded and apparently they had a bug in the model file server - problem has been resolved now, but that might have indirectly been related to your order too.
Oh no, they re ordered mine. Hope the bug won't effect the replacement...
I don't there's reason to panic. The bug was on their server, but it's resolved. See attachment:
Give me a minute to decide. I did however find these...
Those dyes are excellent, especially the Kentucky Sky.
Regarding the order : I will contact Shapeways for you, in reference to Autobot Prowl's order, as they mixed you both up.
Please let me know your prefered solution : the set in White or Blue. For the latter it's not guaranteed, but I will request this, if this is your choice of preference - but we'll see how far negotiation will get us.
Again; with both these dyes onto White Strong Flexible Polished, you could get a really nice match to Prime's blue ABS - while if you would have the blue Shapeways material as a starting point, you'd probably only need Kentucky Sky.
