    Hello everyone,

    It's been a while since the last time I posted here, so here's my take on Prime.

    It's a WIP and this is what I did so far;

    -Ball-joint neck
    -Custom made manipulators basically based on this article
    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attac...rnate-way-create-articulated-hands-hands2.jpg
    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attac...rnate-way-create-articulated-hands-hands3.jpg
    - Custom made side-mirrors
    - Custom made screen-accurate air-intake/air-filter-boxes
    - Removed the rubber smokestacks and replaced them with aluminum-pipes
    - Removed windshield-wipers. I want to replace them for custom made
    wipers

    Things I want to do;

    - Gun
    - Battle swords/hooks
    - Articulating toes

    C&C are welcome.

    The mods are great, especially the hands! I like the upgraded mirrors too. What about some air brake lines :) ?

    You're Prime looks great as a whole, but man, those hands are awesome and I like the wrist set up too, tip top! How hard were they to do, looks kinda tedious from those articles you sourced?

    Thank you for the complement. But what do you mean that the filterboxes looks a bit strange to you?

    Thank you. Maybe I will put on some air brake lines.

    Thanks. To make the hands was a bit hard. But I made it a bit easier. Instead of using different kind of styrene strips to built the fingers, I used square tube to make the fingers. I carved one side of the square out to make an U-shaped finger-piece. Than I glued in a center-piece to make the knuckle-joint. I drilled a hole with a 0.8 mm drill in the centerpiece and the next knuckle-piece and I put in a styrene pin, 0.88 mm in diameter, to connect the pieces together. As you can see I used thicker pins than the diameter of the holes they where put in. It gives a more stiffer connection and Prime can actually hold things up in his hands. The wrists are ball-joints.

    The brands I used;

    - Evergreen styrene strips
    - Yellow Sub ball-joints from HLJ
    - Revell cement/glue
    - MR Industrial Superglue

    No idea how you intend to articulate the toes - but can't wait to see it!
    Amazing job so far, where'd you get the mirrors?

    Just had a thought-if you intend to have him have both hooks and the sword, you could probably have the hooks be part of the sword. that way you could flip out the hook with more sword tucked away or bring out the whole sword with the hook as part of the blade itself. Know what I mean?

    Thanks. Still figuring out how to articulate the toes.

    Thanks. The mirrors are hand made with messing wire, 0.5 mm in diameter, styrene and 2 headlight-lenses from a model-kit to create the round dead-angle mirrors. The messing wires are soldered together.

    Yeah, I got the idea. Thanks for the tip.

    Nice.

    Still, this toy is probably the best TF ever.

    You're welcome.

    The rods I used are 5.75 mm/0.226 inches in diameter.
