Taking a break from my Power Rangers LAM project to work on a G1 LAM project instead. After all, it was an idea which I had in my mind for a long time, so it was time it received some attention. *************************** Transformers More then Meets the Eye Summary: A tale of two factions of aliens robot accidentally ending up on Earth, where they will have to gather enough energy to regain their strength and find a way to escape the planet. Meanwhile, ceveral civilians get involved, who could very will change the fate of both Earth and the Transformers. Autobot Cast Optimus Prime: The noble leader of the Autobots. An experienced commander and tactician, but with a righteous heart. Altmode: Flatnosed semi with a sleepercab (the classics never go out of style). Jazz: The righthand of Prime. Is also extremely curious to the behaviour of other liveforms, and it’s his dream to find one (or preferably more) that managed to thrive enough to build a civilitazion. Needless to say, he feels like a kid in a candystore on Earth, even if he has to remain in hiding. Altmode: Pontiac Solstice (excellent replacement for a Porsche, after all). Ironhide: The bodyguard of Prime and one of his closest friends. Also a hardened veteran, who is paranoid of things that he doesn’t know. However, once he comes accustomed to it, he is quite fast with opening himself to it. Altmode: Red Dodge Ram or GM Topkick (in any case: a bigass red pickup truck). Ratchet: The medic in Prime’s team. He’s quite friendly, but to a point to which he loses sight of his allegiance, as he will even try to save Decepticons sometimes. Altmode: Ambulance. Bumblebee: The scout of Prime’s team. He is the youngest of the group and the most eager to prove himself, though he mostly gets in the way due to his behaviour. He’s also the human liason due to his friendly behaviour and small size. Altmode: Either a VW Beetle or Mini Cooper (preferably a beetle). Wheeljack: The scientist on Prime’s team. Stays mostly out of the spotlight, only appearing to create weapons for the Autobots and in the final battle. Altmode: White Camaro ’74 with green stripes. Decepticon Cast Megatron: The tyrannical leader of the Decepticons. A coldhearted veteran warlord who thinks that it’s his destiny to lead the Decepticons to glory against the Quintessons, the beings that had created and enslaved them and with which they have a war to this very day. His only errors are that he is to confident in his own abilities, and that it this flaw that occassionally thwarts his plans because he ignored a small and seemingly insignificant factor. Altmode: Cybertronian tank (he refuses to give up his advantage sheer power, even if that means leading his troops from the shadows). Starscream: The subcommander of Megatron. An arrogant and even elitist Decepticon who considers all groundbound Decepticons as inferior to his own “Seekers”. This combined with his rank has led him to believe that Megatron is unnecessary, and secretly plans to destroy the one who put him in this position of power. He is also extremely dangerous due to his intelligence: Being a former scientist and mathecian, he can easily recognize fatal flaws whereas Megatron can not, and usually responds in kind (even though other Decepticons think that he’s running for his life most of the time that he does it). Altmode: Apache (smaller mech, but who still manages to look like the G1 version due to his transformation). Soundwave: The luitenant of Starscream. A stone cold person who shows no emotions. He can often be found on the neutral side, manipulating them in order to give his own faction an advantage. Starscream trusts him fully, and is unaware that Soundwave is actually a spy planted by Megatron to keep Starscream in check. He also has a minion in Lazerbeak; a bird-like Decepticon who he uses to get into places that he can’t. Altmode: Large newstruck. Lazerbeak is a red motorcycle with a driver drone. Ravage: The assassin of Megatron’s taskforce. An effective warrior who always manages to catch his prey. He prefers simple melee weaponry, but when he needs longrange weaponry he either uses the plasma launchers mounted on his back or the double machineguns that are hidden in his wrists and which can unfold to fit into his hands. Occassionally he works together with Lazerbeak for infiltration missions. Altmode: Jaguar (same as Alternator Ravage). Prowl: The scout of Megatron’s taskforce. An ex-Autobot who realized that supporting the Autobot cause would eventually mean the downfall of the Cybertronian race. This decision still hurts him though, especially since Ratchet saved his life once, an event he can’t get out of his memory. However, this doesn’t mean that he is friendly, quite the contrary: He won’t hesitate to torture his targets if that means that he’ll get the information he wants quicker. He’s also an effective warrior, who is quite heavily armed. Altmode: Ford Mustang police cruiser. Onslaught: Heavy warrior. A large and brutal warrior who lives for destruction. He’s also quite experienced, and to the terror of the Autobots quite cunning and intelligent. He’s also a vocal supporter of Starscream, causing tensions with his rival, Bonecrusher. Altmode: Artillery truck. Bonecrusher: Heavy warrior. A brutal warrior who lives for destruction, same as his rival Onslaught. However, unlike Onslaught he prefers to make things up close and personal, lacking any kind of longrange weapon. Surprisingly, he’s also a scientist and engineer, which often leads to Megatron keeping him on the background, against his wishes. Nonetheless, he’s one of Megatrons’ few friends, and unlike his friend he realizes that Starscream has traitorous tendencies. Despite that he decides to stay silent, watching Starscream’s and Onslaught’s every move to strike when the time is right. Altmode: Buffalo minescooper. Special notes: The Autobots and Decepticons were heavily injured by the crash, and still are when they wake up in 1980. The only one uneffected was Megatron, who managed to escape the Ark and who has hid himself, sleeping until the other Decepticons would wake up (or did he?). This is why they are forced to take over Earthern vehicles: To repair themselves (the vehicles are enforced with nanobots to toughen them up, though) and to have the added bonus of disguise. But in the Decepticons case, this weakens their existing weapon systems (attached to or integrated into their bodies while the Autobots use ‘ordinary’ weapons), forcing them to combine it with Earthern weapons that are present on said vehicle (this means that some of them have no weapons at all, save for Prowl (who is an ex-Autobot) and Ravage and Soundwave, who over time have managed to gather enough rough materials and energy to rebuild their original weaponry). Another thing is that they use holograms to communicate with humans, Infiltration style. Yes, I know, this goes against the source material, but there’s an easy explanation for this: The CGI costs. By saving the bots themselves for certain situations lowers the costs, and you can have them regurarly appearing (always nearby their vehicle modes of course). But the actors playing them should be dubbed over, so that they retain their botmode voices (although nonmetallic), and to add an extra level of ‘creepiness’ (permanent smiles, slightly out of synch voices, and the occassional flicker when no-one’s looking). The plot The movie begins with two ships spiralling towards Earth, their turrets firing at each other. The one with the superior firepower is obviously a warship: Long, elongated and weapons all over it’s hull. It looks like a elongated crossover between a shark and a dragon; whoever made this went for a combination of raw power and fear. The other has far less weapons and a rather neutral appearance. It looks like half a circle but squished to make it flatter and longer at the front, with heavy, yet aerodynamic armor, appearing as it was meant to survive impacts with large objects. On the back are four incredibly advanced and large engines, with several smaller engines surrounding it. The entire ship looks like it was made especially for space travel. The two ships keep fighting, blasting volleys of weapon fire at each other and on an appearant ram course with the planet below. The firing continues, until the smaller vessel miracously manages to score a critical hit, splitting the warship in two. The smaller vessel immediately tries to escape, but in a lest desparate measure the warship engages a tractor beam. The last we see of the two vessels are them spiralling into the atmosphere, both exploding into even smaller pieces as they come crashing down, the seperate pieces ending up all over the planet We see several human civilatations from around the Year 1 pointing to the ‘comets’, with finally a large chunk of the exploration vessel that has a chunk of the warship attached to it’s side crash violently into a volcano: Mount St. Helens. Flash forward to 1980, May 18: The day of the infamous eruption. The avalanche occurs, but now, we see something that the public then didn’t. The camera goes through the rock wall and focusses on a familiar sight: The intertwined and crippled sections of both ships. The avalanche makes it crumble through the floor, through a cave...And then slams through the side of the mountain. Inside the ship, the jolts have awakened several large mechanoid beings, but whose forms remain in the shadows. We now see several blue and red eyes lighting up, and the ship crumbles as they shakingly rise, awakening from a long sleep. But there is no time to get accustomed to their surroundings, as a burst of lava overtakes the debris. Some are destroyed by the lava, and the others quickly escape the ship. Near the volcano eruption, the media is having a frenzy while the police try their best to keep all civilians out of the danger zone. What no-one sees are several mechanoids stumbling out of the forest, sparks cizzling all over their bodies. Some walk into an abandoned parking lot, and then we see through the optics of one of the larger ones. We see that the larger bot looks around, his scanners going through all the vehicles there until his sight settles on a large flatnosed truck on the edge of the parking lot. We pull back to see the mechanoid walking up to the truck, and placing it’s large metal hand on the side. Just then, two teenagers, a girl and a boy, walk into the parking lot, the woman worriedly asking if they should be here. The man reassures her, saying that they are to far away from the eruption and that the only thing that could happen to them was being covered with a tiny bit of ash. But that’s when the woman shrieks, and the man turns around, only to let his eyes widen as he sees the large mechanoid. The mechanoid pays them no heed while the truck it was touching shivers, and that’s when several panels on the truck started to open, pulling the mechanoid in as parts of it body were reassembling. 10 seconds later it was over, and the truck appeared untouched, the mech being inside it. The teenagers look shocked at the truck, and the girl asks if they might have imagined it. But then the lights on the truck go on and it pulls out of the parking lot, no driver at the steering wheel. It’s shortly followed by a white, greenstriped Camaro, a Porsche, a red pickup truck and...A yellow VW Beetle, which unlike the others, stop in front of them. The pair kept looking at it, and that’s when the girl decided to swallow her nerves and say ‘hi’ to it. The VW Beetle kept standing there, lights on, until a distorted ‘hi’ came out of it’s hood before it drove back to the convoy, an ambulance pulling out of a sidestreet to accompany them, leaving the baffled teenagers behind. *************************************** That's all I've got so far.
