Today my 4-year-old boy was surprised with a Transformers-themed birthday party. My wife did a pretty good job doing all of the party planning: She ordered Transformers balloons, streamers, party hats, gift bags, an Optimus Prime pinata, as well as a cake.

And I treated all his slightly older cousins to their first screening of the 1985 Transformers animated movie, where I proudly watched my son educate them on ALL the characters' names.

The cake turned out to be pretty lame, so we did a little un-laming of our own:

And yes, he got Transformers toys as gifts (which his dad was happiest about).

And his birthday is actually tomorrow (God bless my wife for waiting until after Valentine's day to give birth to him).

Wow, your son's one lucky kiddo! Not everyday you get to celebrate your birthday, TF style.

As long as there's no lead paint, he should be fine.

Now what they need is a transforming cake. Anyone ever see that show on the Food Network where they make the crazy cakes and pastries? I wonder if they could make one. That would be awesome.
