Been messing around in Photoshop, taking a look at some tutorials, and throwing in my own creativity... here are the results. (all are made from scratch unless noted otherwise)

I'll keep updating this thread with what trickles out of my spare time. (In separate posts, so check through the pages to see what I add.)

    This needs no introduction.

Is there a tutorial for Cap's shield? It looks epic and professional as well. Great job!

I found myself changing a lot of the lighting setting he suggested. I wanted to go for something a little darker to give it more of a worn and used look. I also used a different texture than what he gave. I went for more scratches to give the "battle tested" look to it. And, I used a different drop shadow and inner shadow style for the seams in the metal rings to make it pop more.

    Nice work!

Just a note in regard to that shield tutorial, I'd suggest using shape layers rather than the paint bucket tool for filling areas. They open up more possibilities than an old-fashioned layer of "pixel paint". Also, using a gradient fill layer instead of the gradient tool will allow you to make easier adjustments. :)
