Took my Dad over to Castle Combe circuit for Rally Day for his birthday.
Rally Day is an exhibition of many different kinds of rally racing cars, old and new, both on and off the track. I took tons of photos and stuck them here
also took some videos and edited them together there (turn your speakers up nice and loud for that one!)

Here's some of my favourite shots though to give you a flavour:

Audi Quattro S1 evo, at least 500bhp on tap from its 2.0 turbo 5 cylinder engine and probably the most iconic rally car ever built
    [IMG]
A plethora of Lancia Stratos', I'd never seen one before up close and there were about 7 there, all real ones and all in many colours!
A Mustang, US didn't go totally unrepresented, getting sideways after the hairpin of the rally stage on the track.
A Ford Escort Mk1 sliding around the same corner.

A great day out that my dad and I very much enjoyed, the weather was perfect which left both of us with a bit of sunburn.
    Definitely going again next year!

I have always loved the Stratos styling, really hope that Concept from last year gets build. But those old school Audis just look like they want to kick your ass.

You and me both, nothing quite like a Stratos.

Funny you'd say that about the Audis, the group B cars were so powerful and needed such concentration that the drivers used to have psychologists and masseurs on standby at their roadside service points to help them de-stress before setting off again.

On the day the Quattro was driven by one of the previous Audi team Hannu Mikkola. Despite being 65 years old now he was amazingly quick around the course.

I still miss the old boxy Audi we used to have. But then I didnt realize how dam good it was tille a few years later and was well more into cars. Its was pretty much a 4 door version of those old rally beasts.

Yeah my uncle regularly pisses me off by keeping his old 4-door Quattro locked in a garage, it's been there for about 12 years now gathering dust :(
I considered getting a Quattro coupe myself a while back, but they are very expensive to run these days, parts are very pricey and they drink petrol.
