Ok, so today I was at walmart, and I saw a returned Cyberverse Crowbar (at full price) among the rest. This thing was so terribly repackaged (half transformed, instructions torn, arm popped off) that I ended up taking it out of the box, popped the arm back into place, correctly transformed it, folded the instructions, put it all in place, then put it back up on the shelf and went on my way. Has anyone else been in a similar situation to this one?

Yes. But I can't say I've ever done what you did. Kudos.

If I ever find TFs thrown about or in the wrong section, I'll always return them to the right spot. Can't say that I've ever done what you did, though.

That is an awesome thing you did. I totally respect that!

I tend to pick the toys off the floors when I got to Walmart. I hate seeing brand new toys scattered around on a store floor to be stepped on.

As nice as that was of you to do I'd never do that myself (and I'm pretty OCD) in case someone came along and accused me of trying to steal the figure out of the package.

I once spent my time tidying the Transformers shelf at a local super market.

Everything was all over the place, and it really bugged my OCD. :redface2:

As mentioned above I would tend to stay away from something that looked open or tampered with. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't bug me. I would probably want to fix it, but would leave it alone. Unless it was discounted and I'd inspect it to see about buying.

But one thing I always do is organize the pegs. I worked at TrU for awhile and my manager loved it when I worked. I am just a neat and organized person and it bugged me when the shelves were scrambled. To this day I will typically straighten up any shelf at any store... especially TFs.

nope, not my job. If that's how they want to keep their store/merchandise displayed that's on them. only thing I'll ever do is put something on a peg if I knock it off.

LOL i have seen that very one! That store is famous for stuff like that! I have seen some almost comical repackaged returns there.

I will often tidy a badly mangled section. Re-pegging perch and such. Old habits from my retail days that just won't go away.

I've seen understocked shelves with the toys spread all over various pegs and consolidated them to expose the several pegs worth of restocking the store needs to do.

I've never cleaned up an aisle, but I do try to help people that have no idea what little Tommy was talking about on his Christmas/birthday list, or if this figure is cooler than that figure. That happens all the time... I just hate to see a kid get the wrong toy.

I rescued a Movie Thundercracker that was sitting in our local supermarket. It had been there for at least a year, and every week it would get moved around a bit and the box would get that little bit more battered along with my heart at the sight of this poor unloved and overpriced toy. In the end I couldn't take it anymore so I paid the ridiculous price they were charging and took him home.

I'll help Target out at times on rare occassions there's a slight mess or the pegs are messed up - I don't go messing with opened figures though. WM though? No. That store is usually trash both inside and out.

I've put toys properly on the shelves at the K Mart I go to. The main reason I do this is because I've seen people who work there going around fixing it more than once, so if I can help them by straightening up an isle they then don't have to do then I will.

I fix up shelves all the time. Even move Generations figures that are on Movie figure pegs and vice-versa.

I've just never fixed up a returned figure in a busted package like the OP.

The only thing I do is to organize the section better so hopefully they stock more.
