Honestly that has nothing to do with your original question. But, to answer the above statement, weaponry constantly evolves, and I would think that is even true of an advanced, sentient robots.

Maybe Stealth Force has something to do with Wheeljack/Que. He's the inventor, right? I don't know, perhaps he offers the 'bots some tech that allows them to do this.

I admit, I'm also a little thrown about the fact that in the movie itself there'll probably be little, if any, explanation as to how it's come about. But at the end of the day, it's best just to remember that this is a new gimmick for the latest line of toys, and they wanted kids to see it in the movie, be shocked and amazed, then rush out to buy some. They won't be overly concerned with how the new weaponry and modes came about.

And for the people who do care, like others have said, there's a lot more at stake this time round. The Autobots were able to get away with not pulling out all the big guns previously, but now they have little choice.

(On another small note, has Stealth Force not been addressed in either the comics or the video game? Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, just I haven't had chance to access either yet, and either of those would seem like a sense place to make reference to it.)

its what the entire game revolves around and it actually helps big time but it is never adressed about how it became relevant but they do bring light to mech tech
