I'm currently doing something for a friend right now, but I thought I'd share with you guys what my next project is going to be. I'm going to be taking a Classics Starscream, and using the model kit that I had bought to steal the missiles off of when I made my Cybertron Dirge from the Thundercracker mold(I had to nix those crappy rubber ones it came with). The size is actually nearly perfect. Here's a rough idea of the modding that I'll have to do: As you can see, I'll have to mount the main wings slightly forward of where they are on Starscream, as well as chop off the vertical tailfins from the rotating piece on the legs. I'll then take the proper new vertical fins and mount them to the back of the legs in the appropriate position. The other fins will get cut and the model's in their place as they're a different size and shape, though the location is pretty close to the same. I also will have to modify his shoulders, as an F-15 has the chopped off look there, but not the -18. I'll cut the appropriate part off the model's body and attach it to the tips of the shoulder pieces, after I do a big shaving of the sides. And here's approximately what the colors will look like: I realize its hard to really visualize how that will look for real, so I found an good image with Google that shows the actual paint that I'll be using, which is a metallic Candy Lime Green, from Tamiya: I'm also considering doing something similar for my purple seeker, but as an F-14. I realize the engines are a little too close together for that to be wholly accurate, but I think it'd be more than close enough to work. The one big difference would the that the wings would be stuck in the delta form, which I don't think is a big deal for the size honestly, and that'd still make a nice unique look for the robot mode.
