So I placed an order for this in September. X-Arcade was having a special one time only sale of surplus control panels from their home arcade machines.

For those uninitiated this is their normal top of the line Joystick, the Tankstick.

Now this is a fine joystick, I used to have the old one, the original two player X-Arcade joystick, it is is a state of disassembly as I rebuild it for my kids.

So I stumbled upon the special they were having in September for the afore mentioned Home Arcade Machine control panel. They were Pre-Ordering them for $99 plus shipping and any add on adapters with a due in date of November I added the Xbox 1 adapter and it was $150 shipped. ($50 less than the normal Tankstick) November became just after Christmas, and after that came early February.

So it arrived today, and here are a couple of pics.

I dub thee the Hellmurder 5000, X-Arcade calls it the XXL.

I have already replaced the stock joysticks with Happ Competition Joysticks that I stiffened up the action on. Played a few games of SF on it and now I need to order a XFPS 360 so I can use it on the 360 for the upcoming Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD

Sadly no. This was a one off, they had overstock for the amount of cabinets they had, so they sold these cheap. They said the normal retail on this was $300.

However the regular Tankstick is still a great stick, and you can't go wrong with the normal dual, and single if you don't want the trackball and you can get deals on refurbs. They also sell adapters for the Dreamcast, PS1/2, PS2 to PS3, Xbox 1 and Gamecube/Wii. Due to Microsoft being Nazi's about Controllers with the 360 it does not have an adapter but with the XFPS 360 you can get it to work.

This thread made me realise how BAD I am at fighting gamers. And not just one, ALL of them : Soul Caliber, Street Fighter, Tekken, DOA, Virtua Fighter etc etc.

That's nice looking, but I could never get used to arcade sticks. D-pads' are the fighting game controllers for me.

See I HATE using a controller for Fighting Games, or any other Arcade Games. Then again I grew up in Arcades and have been in the Arcade Business on and off for going on 19 years this summer.

Wow. I don't think I even own a table (or any surface for that matter) badass enough to support that monster. How much does it weigh?

Holy shit, that's one ginormous contoller, Shin.

Is it compatible with other consoles?

Wow, I thought the original Xbox controllers were huge. Are you building a cabinet, or just using that as a standalone controller?

This is stand alone. I am building a MAME Machine later this year, however the control panel I am building for that will make this look like a toy. I have designed a one that will have just about every control set that has been in the arcade over the years, within reason.

Another neat little goodie. On the PC the Trackball works as a mouse, on a Modded Xbox it works as a mouse as well. So MAME on my Modded Box has real Marble Madness!!!

Wow! That is awesome, I found an old arcade cabinet literally on the curb ready for the trash. Want to refurbish it and make it a MAME machine. However I would feel bad as it is a Pacman Junior machine that actually still works.

If it's a Jr Pac you are better off restoring it if it's the original cabinet.

Oh and I hate you for finding that. :p

    Sweet man,

Just last week I ordered the basic 2 player version & will also be building a Mame cabinet. (Hoping to get started this weekend).

Chalk me up as another SFII nut. :D

I was working on some custom Side-Art today at work since we've got allot of down-time recently.
