Ok, I'm almost done with my movie line of toys. It's the first series i'll finish to my wants. I'm looking for characters actually in the movie not ones that are just in the toy line. The only exception is ThunderCracker due to my son getting one for Christmas and he wanted his with mine so...

So far I have the following:

    Autobots

    Ultra
Optimus Prime (Not shown, but is on the top of the shelf in full butterfly glory)

    Leader
    ROTF Jetfire
HFTD Battle Hooks Optimus Prime (In transit)
    DOTM Ironhide

    Voyager
ROTF Optimus (will be replaced with HFTD Leader Prime when he gets in)

    Human Alliance
    Jazz
    Leadfoot
    Roadbuster

    Deluxe
    ROTF Icecream Twins
    ROTF Mudflap
    ROTF Skids
    ROTF Stalker Scorpinok
    ROTF Wheelie
    DOTM Cannon Fire Bumblebee
DOTM Jolt (would rather have ROTF Electric Jolt but...)
    DOTM Sideswipe
DOTM Specialist Ratchet (would like the actual move accurate color version but unless I find it really cheap i'll pass due to already having this one)
    DOTM Topspin

    Decepticons

    Supreme
ROTF Devastator (Not Pictured, it's on top the shelf with Ultra Op)

    Leader
    DOTM Sentinel Prime

    Voyager
    TFTM Blackout (In transit)
    TFTM Megatron
    ROTF Mixmaster
    ROTF The Fallen
    DOTM Megatron
    DOTM Shockwave

    Deluxe
    TFTM BoneCrusher (In transit)
    ROTF Rampage
    ROTF Ravage
    ROTF Soundwave
    DOTM Barricade
    DOTM Crankcase
    DOTM Laserbeak
    DOTM Starscream
    DOTM Thundercracker

    Scout
ROTF Ejector (He's just awesome so I had to get him, only exception)
    DOTM Hatchet

    Legion
    DOTM Soundwave

I plan on getting the following to finish the line

    ROTF - Voyager - Demolisher
ROTF - Deluxe - Brawl or Desert Brawl (really any deluxe brawl)
    ROTF - Scout - Scalpel
??? - Deluxe - Arcee (which one should I get? I need 2 bikes total)
??? - Deluxe - Elita-1 or Chromia (which one looks better and from which line)

I cannot for any reason spend more than $40, shipped, for any one character due to budget.
I will not spend $30 on a deluxe so deluxe Que, Soundwave and Leadfoot are out of the question unless I happen to find them really cheap some how.

I do have the Classic Camero BB and the DOTM Leader BB but, the leader is way out of scale so I'm not putting it up and the classics is just ugly so I won't add it either but I do have them.

Any recommendations for ones I'm missing? Of actual characters from the movie?

    I suggest :

    - ROTF Deluxe Sideways ; still a great mold imo and the not-Audi R8 mode is beautiful.

    - ROTF Scout Dune Runner ; this little guy is amazing ! Yeah I know... he's technically not in the movie...

    - ROTF Deluxe Deep Desert Brawl ; get this version instead of the green one, because the green one has shoulder tab issues.

Replace your BB with either HFTD Battle blades Bumblebee, or HA Bumblebee. Also thini about The Legends sized Devastator, just because he's a cool figure.

Leader Starscream is the best Movie figure hands down in my opinion. He was spotted in discount stores for under $30 but I'm not sure if you could find one now. Plus, I'm not sure how much you would want one since you already got a deluxe Starscream.

I think you need a better Optimus Prime, man. Even the ROTF leader is better than the HftD one. Consider the Jetwing Amazon exclusive.

you should definitely get a lot more off screen figures, there are a bunch of them in the first movie line. If you don't have bludgeon, mindwipe, and lockdown your missing out since those are no doubt some of the movie line's best work. Also you could put all the offscreen figures on a different shelf or something if you don't want them with the in movie guys.

If you're keeping it solely to onscreen characters:

ROTF Legends Wheelie (much better representation of the character, especially if you're a scale hound)
Robot Heroes Dispensor (I know, but it's one of the best and most articulated RH toys, and there's no other real representations of Dispensor)
    ROTF Voyager Long Haul
TFTM07 Deluxe Arcee (better than the ROTF version by miles, unless you're really going for screen accuracy)

DOTM Spacecase and Thundercracker deluxes are pretty awesome, but I'm a huge fan of alt mode planes.

if you're sticking with on-screen characters, i strongly suggest Rotf Deluxe Sideways and Rotf Long Haul (or get Hftd Payload and pretend he's Longhaul).

If you consider upgrading some characters you already have, Hftd Leader Scream, Rotf Leader Optimus, Hftd Deluxe Bumblebee are probably the best versions of the characters. (Though it won't be cheap)

If you are willing to get some off-screen but awesome movie figures, Rotf Armorhide, Rotf Brawn, Rotf Mindwipe, Rotf Skystalker (scout), Movie Longarm, Dotm Skyhammer (voyager), Hftd Highbrow (voyager), Movie Dropkick, Hftd Bludgeon are some of the great figures from that line.

Great idea's yall, i'm checking into a couple of them to see how well they all fit into my collection..

I'm surprised I haven't seen any recommendations on Arcee short of the one? What's up with that?

Been thinking about adding payload/long haul as well but we'll see how much space I have before I can do it.

I've also wanted a ROTF Megatron and the leader version would be great but way out of my price range so, if and when I find a decent ROTF version for the right price, I'll add it.

That TFMT Ratchet looks beautiful but, unless I find it cheap...I think I saw one on CL so I'll check into it. same guy has a BB Bumblebee for $10 so I might grab it also.

I've been looking into getting either the ROTF or the HFTD Leader Prime and have compared lots of pictures and reviews and can't find anything different between them short of the battle hooks. If the ROTF is so much better, then what's the difference between them esp since they both can hook up with Jetfire which is my main reason for getting one.

If I can get the money, then I will be getting the Amazon Jetwing Prime but, that's a lot of money for me to spend on one figure due to my current situation. 3 kids and a cheating wife makes it hard for me to spend a lot of money on one figure. I managed to get the HFTD one MISB shipped for $40 but I think there is one on CL included in a lot around my way for less than $30 so I might try for it.

Thank you everyone for the thoughts, please keep them coming.

oh, I do have off screen characters but, they will be going on a different shelf and not included in this "set". I have bludgeon and a couple others.

Well there's not that much difference really, not enough to justify the price gap anyway. Rotf is considered better mainly due to his energon swords are somewhat cooler and got more screen time than battle hooks (though hooks are a little better for arm articulation when they're hidden) and Rotf one has his trademark face plate instead of bare half-blacked face which is a sorry excuse for battle damage. Don't worry though, i heard black paint can be easily removed using some techniques.

For some good cheap figures, Breacher, Insecticon, Oil Pan/Brakedown are all solid figures.

For deluxes Brawn, Stockade, and Wreckage/Bludgeon are all boss.

At Voyager, it doesn't get much better then Skyhammer and Highbrow. Seaspray and Bludgeon are also great but you may be tempted to pose them with your classics (if you have any) instead. Seaspray also is Breacher's partner so they compliment each other well.

The only leader class you have left that is really good is Starscream. He was repackaged as a masterpeice figure for a reason :)

For Voyager, I'd put Bludgeon (which you mentioned), Mindwipe, and Lugnut ahead of either Highbrow or Seaspray. Lugnut, in particular, is an incredible figure.

get movie legends barricade. even if you're not big on legends he's an amazing figure for his size. his head can look up and down, he has knees and balljointed feet.

ROTF Legends Arcee -A great little toy
    DOTM HA Sandstorm/Half-Track (scout sized)
HFTD Leader Starscream- Absoultely the best moviescream.
    HFTD Sunspot
    HFTD Legends Ravage
    ROTF Legends Devastator

Well there's always mighty Tftm Leader Brawl, which i suppose is far too expensive and quite rare at this point.

I'm sorry, but I didn't see him so... Why no Scalpel? He plays a big part of RotF when it comes to the McGuffin device (I mean AllSpark Shard) and he's also present for the scene with Sam when Meg's triumphant return is revealed.

    As for the bike trio.

While I do agree that the first movie's attempt at an Arcee is a better design over all, I'd have to say that for screen accuracies sake you'd probably be better off with either the deluxe RotF bikes or their HA counterparts. (Smaller versions that were included with HA Skids and Mudflap.)

Long Haul is a nice addition to the Constructicons, and quite an impressive looking figure, wish I had one. *SIGH*

Also, Insecticon is meant to represent a character seen briefly in RotF, the tiny inset robot that Sam crushes. It isn't entirely accurate to the on-screen character, but the intent is there. Plus he's a scout so shouldn't cost too much to find one.

As far as non-screen characters, you can't go wrong with Dirge and Jetblade, two deluxes that are awesome interpretations of cone-heads in the Movie aesthtic. I sorely wish Hasbro would re-release this mold as a new Movie version of Thrust or any character really. Even a Skyjack would be appreciated. (Hey, we got Cyberjet Hooligan as Fearswoop, why not Skyjack too?)

Oh right, did you mention Legion Crowbar and Command Hatchet? Those represent two characters from DotM. Can't remember if you mentioned them.

Good luck in completing your collection to the budget specified. I think the movie line figures are a little bit more fun than even the Unicron Trilogy molds at this point.
