    Ebay:
It was about 2 hours ago. We went to a local deli. I was in one truck with my girlfriend while whe was driving the other. We parked alongside in brightly lit, open spaces. To my mom's right a car was previously parked. She started to get out and as I went around to open the rear, right door of my truck I saw something out of the corner of my eye. A motherf*cker had opened the rear door and was trying to slip in unnoticed behind my mom in the backseat. He had trouble getting in, as we had just gone grocery shopping and the rear of the double cab including the floor was full with bags.

When I saw him, I pulled my mom out of the truck and went to grab him by the left side door. He bolted and started running down the street. I didn't follow, instead focusing on if he had a gun or knife and called the cops.

The manager at the Deli says that it's not the first time its happenned. What they do, is slip unnoticed behind you, put a weapon against your back and command you to drive away. Then accomplices in another car meet up with you, and you're either made to drive them around to bank tellers in order to clean out your accounts, or they will kidnap you, while using your car as a getaway vehicle for armed robberies, or other crap.

I lost my father really young, and I'm extremely pissed off that some scum almost took my mother away from me too. Police know who they are but don't give a crap, and I can't believe the plaza at which the deli is located (a very affluent part of town) cannot afford to have a security guard.

Just wanted to vent a little.

I am glad your mother was not harmed....you did the smart thing by not chasing the guy, because there is no need for you to get hurt or even killed in the process since he was on the run.

I can totally understand why you would need to vent after something like that, because I could imagine how I would feel if it were my mother in that situation.

In the internet age, I really don't know what to make of this. Something Post-post-modern perhaps?

    Dang man, that's scary.

But if this happens a lot, why not up the security? Why isn't there at least one black and white near the deli at all times, if it's a frequent place for robberies?

THIS. I'm glad your mom is fine, but damn that would stick with me for a while. Just hope they find the creep who tried this and poke him in the genitals with a cattle prod.

Very glad to hear your Mom will be ok, and thankfully you were there to help!! Good son!
Maybe you can stir them up around there by writing to the local paper and bringing this to the whole community's attention. (Some one else's Mom or sister may not be as lucky)

I'm glad that you were able to stop something really bad from happening to your mom. You also made the right decision to not chase the scumbag.
