What do I do...my brand new leader Starscreams eyes won't light up anymore though his chest lights and front intake lights still work. So what do I do? Any help from those who have had this happen to them or know how to deal with the lights on Leader Starscream, would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to read from someone who understands the electronics on this guy and maybe they could help me out before I open him up. I think it is a loose wire but where? Someone with real experience moding this toy can help by telling the known issues with the lights and sounds. Maybe even give me hints on how to avoid these issues later. To get another clearance Starscream only means I will eventually get the same issue...so please don't tell me how easy it is to hit Ross and swap a toy, the $20 Leader Starscream "boat" has long sailed on. Thanks ahead of time.
Sorry to hear that man But at least your copy doesn't talk a lot even if you didn't pull the activision trigger like my copy does occasionally!
Replace LED's...ok but how? what are the proper steps for this? Where do you get new ones, how much...ect. the more info the better. You never know, someone else my have problems with their leader toy and would like to know as well. I'm hoping that my inquiry can expand to help others.
I really doubt the LEDs are fried. The red ones especially have an absurdly long functional life. More likely, the wire leads are damaged/loose, and might need to be re-soldered.
Sorry to hear your Starscream Electronics suck too, the button on plane mode doesn't work on mine anymore.
As much as you don't want to hear "exchange for another clearance Starscream", that might be the best solution. Chances are you just got one with a QC issue.
Well if there is one to be found I might do that but as it is...there is no more in my area so...anyone got a tutorial on how to work with the electronics on Leader Starscream?
If you can still find it at retail, even if it's not on sale anymore, you can buy it and use your new receipt to return your old Starscream. Tell them about the QC issue so they send it back to the company rather than reshelving it.
Well, if it's brand new, then it's possible that kids looking at the toy in the store over used the electronic gimmic and probably tore the wiring to the eyes.
