As always, I encourage those who dislike AFA to find another thread. This is not a thread for discussing the merits/drawbacks of AFA. It is a thread for fellow AFA collectors to share in the pleasure of receiving high marks on AFA submissions. If you don't like AFA, if you think slabbing sealed toys is stupid, if you have any problem with my collecting habits at all, your comments are not welcome here. Thanks for understanding.

So, with that said, I received today via FedEx: AFA 9.5 Crystal Convoy, AFA 9.25 Lucky Draw Galvatron, AFA 85 Cobra-La Team, and AFA 90 Slaughters Renegades! A great haul!

I don't understand getting toys graded just to put them into a box and then never play with them. Especially a toy as cool as Crystal Convoy. You can't really appreciate him unless he has some light behind him. I'm not putting you down or your style of collecting. But I am curious of what enjoyment you get at staring at a plastic box with a toy inside that you will never play with.

    Thanks :)

As for some of the earlier questions some of you posted, the full pricing schedule may be found at toygrader.com. I will post some pics later for those that would like to see. And the purpose of grading is twofold: to keep them in their present condition, and to establish what that condition actually is. Take the Cobra-La and Slaughters Renegades for example. Those are from a recent case find. To prevent loss of condition due to handling, I like having them slabbed.

Some of the questions you guys have posted are good. I like being able to explain why AFA is a good thing for me, instead of just hearing people bash it.

When yo get them graded and they are sealed iits alot better for value wise and also if its sealed your not going to be playing with it anyways and your just going to be looking at it so why not get it graded for protection and for money making purposes in the end any how.
What do you mean case find???? You found a case of those untouched?? That is crazy if that is the case.

When you get toys graded, do you keep duplicates for loose display? Throwing that out there for any AFA folks, just curious.

I wish I discovered the case. It was found in Huntsville, AL by a man whose grandfather ran a toy shop. He said that his grandfather had been hauling the stuff around for almost 20 years after closing his shop in FL. He has a lot of other stuff, too. But nothing TF related, sadly.

I sometimes do. I have a loose mint Triple T w/Slaughter, plus I have an AFA 85 MISB one. That's just one example.

Some of them. I've only got AFAd Seacons and Sunstorm (so far), but I have a loose Piranacon too.
