My first thought upon seeing the picture of Animated Cyclonus was "Why would they make him look so similar to the Universe version?" Then I decided that if and when they make a toy of him, he shall sit on my shelf as the Cyclonus clone who was in the movie, never to be seen again. That way he will have a very similar design to Cyclonus, but it will be easy to differentiate the two. Anyone else think of this?
hmm, interesting! though im guessing they'd probably make him a Voyager, so iunno if that messess with you're theory or not...
Eh, to make him and not have to worry about similarites between him and Universe Cyclonus, all they really need to do is wait till Un. Cyclonus is off the pegs and then release whatever they have planned for Animated Cyclonus. It's what they're doing with Ratchet.
Well, whichever one is bigger will serve as my Cyclonus. The smaller of the two will be the unnamed clone.
I could easily be wrong, but I'm thinking Animated Cyclonus was intended to be a non-toy character from the get-go (at least not anytime soon), and knowing that, Hasbro may have pushed for a design closer to G1 and/or the Universe toy, so if kids decide they want the character, the Universe toy is available. (and the kids hopefully won't care much about differences in style.)
I have considered that too, but I hope it's not the case. I will have my Henkei Cyclonus so I'm not TOO worried, but still.
Eh, personally if I get whatever toy they have planned for Animated Cyclonus, I'll be displaying him with the other Animated toys, and keeping Universe Cyclonus as himself. I think there is a decent chance he'll be a Voyager class figure, though I also wouldn't be surprised if he ends up getting a Deluxe class figure instead. It all depends on how big he is compared to the others, and how much he's seen in Season 3. As it is I'm not sure I'll get a toy version of him anyways, as there are other new characters I would rather get toys for. Especially Rodimus Prime and Blackout, as I have kitbash ideas for their potential toy molds.
