January 11 2008,7 players of the BHS basketball team died in a tragic accident. The van they we're in loss control and hit in to an transport truck.... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=9404549174 my home town of Bathurst, New brunswick is the centre of a nation wide memorial service for the 7 "boys in red". I am an alumni of BHS (bathurst High School) and i am a phantom. they were the home town team, and even though i didn't know any of the 7,i knew the teacher who died, and the coach. Reports are falling in from all over the nation that on wednesday, Jan 16th, in memory of the 7 boys in red (our school colors are red and black) alumni, students, and all those showing support (there are high school basketball teams in california, florida, and all over the US as well participating) that you wear a red shirt on this day. I havn't been a resident of my home town for 6 years, and i'm still upset about it 3 days later. for such a small town, this is bigger than it can handle. it is a very tight community, and from what i hear from my mom, the town is just pretty well shut down. extra police are coming in from other cities to help direct traffic on the day of the funeral ( wednesday) as it is being held in our town sports copmplex. so i ask any of you who were ever on a school basketball team, or feel a need to show support for a town in morning, wear red on wednesday, jan 16th.
