*NOTE* you all know that Hasbro has an cinematic universe planned, but due to obvious reasons Transformers is not part of it. so these are not related to the Michael Bay films so heres my version of an Hasbro Cinematic Universe. EDIT: i added a few new titles. Phase 1 Transformers: The Great War G.I. Joe Transformers: Arrival to Earth ROM the Space Knight G.I. Joe vs Transformers Phase 2 G.I Joe 2 Transformers: One Shall Stand Inhumanoids Bucky O'Hare and The Toad Wars M.A.S.K. G.I. Joe vs Transformers 2 G.I. Joe 3 ROM 2 Phase 3 M.A.S.K. 2 Visonaries Bucky O'Hare 2 ROM/Bucky O'Hare Crossover film Micronauts G.I. Joe vs Transformers 3 Part 1 G.I. Joe vs Transformers 3 Part 2 Phase 4 Inhumanoids 2 Transformers: The Combiner Wars Micronauts: The New Voyages Transformers: The Titans Return Bucky O'Hare 3 Transformers: The Beast Wars.
Bucky O'Hare? ROM? Micronauts? While they are nostalgic, they wouldn't do well at all as standalone films. To be honest they aren't even something to be excited about seeing in Live Action. So.. This list is just... No. Just my opinion.
it could have potential like for example the Righteous Indignation crash land on Prysmos from Visionaries or the Decepticons teaming up with the Dire Wraiths from ROM.
Eh, the only reason I don't think Rom or Micronauts would fare very well in this day and age is because today's nostalgia-desperate studio system probably wouldn't be real eager to back those properties to begin with due to total lack of brand familiarity. Hasbro's done nothing with Rom up until very recently, and attempts to revive Micronauts over the years have never lasted long, whereas G.I. Joe leastwise already has two live-action movies to its name and at least some animation. Frankly, I think MLP has a better chance of getting a new theatrical release than any of the others.
The current ownership of Bucky O'Hare is actually a really interesting question. One would assume he's still owned by Continuity Publications, but it's owned by Neal Adams, who's always been friendly to creators and artists after getting fucked over himself more than once. So he MAY have let Larry Hama and Michael Golden retain control, or at least helped it revert back to them when the company went under. I mean, I'm ASSUMING they tanked long ago, right? I honestly haven't heard a damned thing about them in almost two decades, after all. But then again, Hama always had a strong working relationship with Hasbro, who made the Bucky O'Hare toys, not to mention the Sunbow/F.H.E.connections. So maybe he's theirs now? Short answer = IT'S COMPLICATED, lol. Occam's Razor is telling me it's just another who cares/why bother sorting it out issue at the moment. But I'm personally hoping it's some combination of Hama/Golden/Adams, that seems like the most reasonable and fair option. So that's probably wrong, lol. :-\
Oh Transformers isn't part of the cinematic universe? I thought it was a series of films and spin-offs they were going to make that was going to stem off of the Transformers films. I guess I misunderstood.
Might as well include a combiners vs voltron. Then they unite when the decepticons join forces with the drule empire
Micronauts could, if they were allowed to use the Marvel mythology. That was a better comic with a better story and consistently better art than Transformers has EVER had. Even now. A strong movie could easily be made from Micronauts even without leaning on nostalgia the way TF does. ROM? Yeah, that would be a tougher putt. Not impossible, but definitely more of a risk for less reward.
didnt hasbro already say transformers wouldnt be apart of the shared universe?..at least not any time soon? i remember they were gonna combine the universes back in 2009 with transformers 2..yet another casualty of the ill-timed writer's strike
