I guess the vet is a good place to start. Or you local fish retailer.

It's getting withdrawal symptoms, put a few rocks of crack in it's tank.

It's turning into a polar goldfish. Don't worry, it's totally natural. Stick a load of ice in the tank and it'll be just dandy.

    Ignore these idiots.

The condition is called Pescatorial Monochromaticism and is quite common. All you need to do is grate a carrot into the bowl and stir rapidly until the carrot dissolves. The afflicted fish will absorb the pigment from the carrot-water and return to his normal colour. Problem solved.

    (Do not do this)

Maybe he's lonely and needs some companionship. Buy another fish.

It happens as they get old. Don't worry about it.

But the mustard suggestion has merit, keep your options open.

Michael Jackson fish. Keep it away from younger cod.

    Also, from: goldfishinfo.com

On that note, putting it outside would be a bad idea to try and get it orange again, since that's a good way to wake up one morning and have no goldfish anymore. The loss of pigment isn't harmful. Birds and hungry mammals are.

Don't remember having such problems when I had goldfish while growing up. Hmm, do you know anybody who keeps goldfish as pets who might know what's happening with yours? Or maybe you should go to the pet store, see if anybody who works there might be able to help you or find any books on having fish, see if it tells you anything.
