No, I didn't go to GDC, but my Game Design Criticism and Analysis professor Brenda Brathwaite (one of the designers for both the Wizardry and Jagged Alliance series) did, and she brought back a bunch of swag for the class. It's nothing fantastically special (well, one thing is friggin sweet), but I think it's still cool and wanted to show it off. -Mojopac t-shirt. I'll admit I took it because no one else really wanted it. I don't even know if it'll fit me. It's an XL, and I wear XXL t-shirts. -IGT keychain/level/tape measure (pretty useful since I don't have a ruler) -Wiimote keychain/flashlight! And the LED light is friggin powerful (that was without the flash with the lights off).
That Wiimote keychain is awesome I have to say, do they take any SCAD students with them to GDC? It falls so late with Winter quater, but I am sure it would be one heck of a field trip.
I don't think they take students to GDC, considering my class wasn't offered the chance to register (it's also hella expensive). There will be GDX (Game Developers Exchange, kind of a small scale GDC) that SCAD hosts. It'll be next quarter, and actually in Savannah (last year's was in Atlanta).
