Does anybody know where I can have my Game Gear repaired? Thanx!
Whats the actual fault?
I'm not sure if your feel capable of fixing it yourself as the Game Gear tended to have two common faults which are quite easily replaced (well, easilly if you know what your doing) check lukemorse1 on Youtube and search Game Gear on his channel for videos on how to fix it.
I get horizontal black and white bars on the screen whenever I turn it on and I will check out that channel. Thanx!
At least now you don't have to pay for batteries. No but seriously if you're somewhat competent you should be able to check out a couple youtube videos on the subject and do it yourself.
game gear! wow.
My Game Gear's needed repair for about 10 years, I'm yet to find anyone who can fix it. Will have to check out these youtube vids for myself...
Well, the tutorials involve soldering and I am not even going to attempt that. So I'm going to check out these guys: Left Coast Games & Sega Parts
Well yes, its the only way to fix the problem. Its not possible to straight swap the screen I believe, as to fix sreen related issues involves tinkering inside the machine. You might have to just buy a new one but the likely hood of purchsing one without any defects might be a little taxing in itself too
They don't repair Game Gears!? WTF!? Because the parts are discontinued. But they repair the other SEGA consoles.
well the system is about 20 years old. I would just try ebay and get a new used one.
I checked a local store, and they have Game Gear units ranging from 21 to 40 bucks in price. Not too bad...
Wow, people still play the Game gear. I haven't touched mine since the tenth grade. Never could get into it to begin with....damn you Sonic.
