It's been a while and I've been wanting to see if I can still do it. I decided not to do a TF just yet, (maybe the next one)so I decided to try a simple Mecha.

anywho, this thing is about 13 inches tall, cut from styrene of various thickness and some PVCs, the Ball and socket joints are the only things pre-made.

Madness, Don... madness! The curse of all geniuses!

That thing is INSANE. Sure it's very Gundam-meets-Dancougar, right down to many of the basic forms... but it easily holds it's own as a distinct, professional Japanese robot design. Now make a cartoon about it. :)

The details are amazing, and overall it's a super-cool design. My only question, conceptually, is what does the headless body do when the jet and bird are elsewhere? Just stand around? :)

Radicon Don, it's great to see you working on some 3-D pieces again, man! This piece is REALLY looking sharp! I love your all of your artwork and this piece really reminds me about an artist just staying true to his roots and continuing to create. I certainly hope we see more work from you soon! Keep it up, buddy! :thumb

Definitely spiffy. ^^ The only problem I have is that the guns seem a bit too simple/traditional for a mecha, but everything else blends very well. I take it the giant body just does the traditional "hide underground" routine when not in use? XP

WOW, I would love to see how that would turn out, this piece is simply amazing, I can't believe someone can make some thing like this themselves.

You definitely still got it Don. One of the best scratchbuilds I've seen. I honestly can't even tell it's a scratchbuild, especially the articulated hands. It looks so factory.
