Mock-up of my first customs; a Nemesis Seeker & Generic Purple Seeker. Nothing too extravagant just some simple parts swaps and minor paint to come. Think I may keep Skywarps stripe pattern on the wings but in teal to match the Nemesis scheme & strip the paint off of the vertical fins. I'm not sure how I feel about the black window on him either, I think I might try an orange or gray one to see what they look like.

I like the mismatching purples, its done so in a balanced way and breaks up the monotony. I look forward to your detailing :)

Yea, I was hoping they would match a little closer to avoid painting them. I think I may end up breaking out the Fusion on it though.

i know these are your first customs, but it would be awesome down the road, the more customs and modding you do, to come back to these guys and give them articulation. that would be sweeet! :)

that was my first reaction, but after thinking about it, I think it works really well at breaking things up, yet still flowing together.

I was working on my stickers tonight and thought I'd print a set out to see how they fit. I need to get some metallic stock to print on & tweak the teal a little bit but the fit was almost perfect... I wonder how clear sticker sheets would work...

I still need to scan the tail fins to trace out the sticker pattern so I haven't touched them yet.

Keeping things moving right along. After failing in a terrible way on my first attempt at painting the wings on the purple one, I think I got it down. Although I'm not quite sure how I feel about the multiple shades of purple on him.

I also added an all white one to the set, the only parts I had to paint on this one were the wings and horizontal fins. I still gotta soak the vertical find to get the paint off but I wanted to see what they looked like first :D

Still searching for proper sticker paper lol

    Looking pretty sweet there.

As for the Purple one, maybe add some black stripes on the wings (as you did with the black seeker).....that may help to break up the purple a bit, and make it all flow nicely

    This (kinda):
The only paint apps I used were on the wings/horizontal fins of the purple one and the white one. Other than that they were all done by doing parts swaps between different seeker bodies.
I decided to get kinda creative and name him: Generic Purple Seeker No. 1

    LOL

Really I haven't even given any thought about creating names for them of any kind of backstory, I just set out to make some of the generic Seekers that appeared in the original series as "troop builders" for the Decepticons... or at least my interpretation of them that is. I've been using this to go by, but Redline pointed me to a rather good page that had some more detailed shots than TFWiki had (TY BTW for that).

REALLY liking the purple and white seekers, not so sure on Teal-warp.
Some said the purple one looked like Blitzwing; I concur, I think some yellow to him would be awesome, you could name him Lightning!

    Good job!

(Did you respray the metal body in chrome or something; whatever, the effect is beutiful!!)

Made some progress w/ my sticker skills, I just gotta pick the colors for the body stickers. I did the wing/tail fin stripes & all 3 Decepticon logos just to test it out. Now I gotta redo the black one (those stickers look pretty bad next to the white one) & pick the colors for the purple one :D
