I decided to do a repaint on the rotf mixmaster. cool design to me so I figured why not. I have never done anything like this before so don't kick my dick in the dirt. feedback is welcome. REMEMBER I am not completely finish so there are some touch up areas to be done as well as sealed with a flat enamal coat that will be airbrushed on with minimal paint brushing.

there is a spot behind the cab that missed paint.. a bad spot that need to be touched up.

again this is my first custom. I do plan to do plenty more I just picked up the proper paints and tools to get the job done. mainly doing then for my own collection.

anyone have a suggestions on how to get the pins out to take the figures apart without destroying them? any help would be great. Thanks for looking!

Man that is a fantastic custom job. If this is your first crack at a paintjob of this magnitude, I can't wait to see what heights your skills reach with additional practice.

Thats a very impressive first effort, it looks like you've been doing it for years.

I'm painting this figure right now, there's a lot of work in him.

The smokestacks next to his head look great when the recessed bits are black, have a look at some of the other recent mixmaster threads to see what I mean.

    Excellent work.

I also like the 'mistransformation' you've done, much better than the one in the instructions.

thanks guys! this my first crack at anything like this. I got the idea for the leg mistransformation from JinSaotome custom he did.

I made a ton of mistakes with him. lots of touch ups and retouch up from the original touch ups.. (tongue twister)

I am going to do a leader jetfire here soon which is going to be a huge challenge. I just need to get more of the movie stills for references.

Outstanding work. Mixmaster was an easy pass for me when I saw him in package, but now I think I'll pick him up. A little paint can work wonders.

Man, if that is your first, then you seem to be a natural. Thats awesome stuff there!

I read on of these boards about using a soldering iron to heat the pins and then they would come out easy. Don't quote me on it though, as I bought a soldering iron, but haven't actually tried it myself...

I'm positive that one the guys on here will know for sure.

Great job, especially for a first time. I'm starting to think Hasbro gives us the BS paint jobs just so we can repaint the figures

Be very proud of your first effort, my man. Good work.

I'm not to familiar with ROTF Mixmaster, but if a pin punch and a hammer is to dangerous, your probably better off leaving hm as is. :thumb

thanks for the comments! I am in the process of doing all of the touch-ups and sealing it with a mat finish. I will post some pictures of it when I am done completely.

Next up is my leader jetfire and deluxe rampage. can't wait to start them. will finally be able to use my airbrush gun.

Awesome job. Wondering why you didn't fix his thumbs though? If you take the screws out of his forearms, and trade teh right and left thumb. Then his hands look liks this. And since his fingers are soft rubbery plastic, he can still transform without any problems.
