    My Devistator WIP ***Update*** 9/24/09

Well, I think I may be a little late to jump on this bandwagon but I have to do it because everyone elses is so awesome. That and the fact that the econemy sucks so much I have to put some other projects on hold. This is the brginning stages of my articulated Devistator. Even my son is getting into this act. (he keeps calling it bob the builder)

    ***UPDATE***

    9/24/09

well it,s been a while since I updater this one. I had a few engineering issues so that was the reason for the delay.(aside from other projects I'm working on like my nightwatch prime http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radic...t-watch-prime-now-less-butt-kibble-bonus.html )

the new pics show some of the range of motion of devi. all of the individual bots still transform. I am thinking of articulating them as well. the extra kibble is able be formed into something resembling a smelting facility of maybe an energon processing plant. havn't decided which i want it to be yet. my son is still in on the act as well which makes it his first project as well. hope you like what you see. let me know what you think.

I bet your son is thrilled :)  He should be, this is a cool project for you guys! Your humility and respect towards others' work is very much appreciated. The "bandwagon" will be glad to help I think (guys?) :thumb

    Keep us updated, man

Looking cool optimusawesome. You may want to shorten the torso a bit, but those bionicle joints won't dissapoint!

By the way, you're pretty good at this for a toddler.

Cool. But I think you should use Neo-Shifter legs and arms. It'll make it look better. Ask Pitville for some sugestions. He did something like this.

Believe me, the neo shifters would have been my first choice, but it is a little tight right now so I just used what I had on hand.

I like your idea. The torso is way too long though. I'd shorten it by almost three inches. If you could cut down the Bionicle torso to its waistline, I think that would do it.

Great ob so far!! I would also suggest shortening the thighs/ lower torso a bit. That being said, I LOVE the hands you are using!!:thumbs2:

I actually have created a new waist for this project. He is about 3 inches shorter now but has better proportions. I did not shorten the theighs however because the proper proportion should be the same as the calf and foot.(new pics above)

I have also devised a way to mount the arms on balljoints so that I have to mod the figures less. I am planning to do some kind of kibble around the armature for the sholders so that he looks like he has some Lats. The final thing I am going to do is mount the head on a ball joint so that it can "look" in all directions.

Let me know what youthink of the revised progress and keep the suggestions coming.

Thanks to everyone who has done these for the inspireation.

His upper legs seem really long too. I love that you're using bioncicles(I have a lot of them) but the lower Rahkshi legs are really long. Maybe you could use some of the toa metru's lower arms?? They're a little bit shorter but they would make the legs look more proportional.

If you have any Metru legs you would like to donate to the cause it would be appreciated. Unfortunately I am forced to work with what I have on hand as money is tight.

    ****UPDATE****

    New pics added of WIP.

    Attached arms to ball joints

I am pretty pleased with it so far and it is improving every day for me. Last articulation mod will be the head so he can look all directions. After that is done I will start on sculpting some of the asthetics to make the armature on the torso look a little more appealing then it will be painting time. Keep up the feedback.

Thanks man. I have a question though. where the hell is blasedell NY? I am from Kinderhook origionally (30 miles south of Albany) I have been pretty much all over that state and want to get a feel for where it is. I'm lazy, I could go to map quest but don't.

I think I remember your original thread a while back. You have come a long way my friend and this is looking nice!

    Are those Bionicle parts?

Thanks man. Yes they are bionicle parts. I am still trying to get the painting done and possibly working on the individual bots.
