I don't own him, but, it could be the mold defect that's on some of them.

turn his head around (face shouldnt be visible under the car), lock the power parts of the doors in place, then shove the whole hood up and force it into shape with your fingers.

then, before letting go, turn him over and look to see if a huge piece of yellow plastic is missing/broken off. if it is, congrats, you have a gimp bumblebee. tips for avoiding a gimp bee are somewhere in the toyark forum.

Yeah... check that defect people are talking about. Mine clicks up no problem.

But try locking the arms and everything in first.

I find this whole "defect" thing weird though. Mine transforms extremely easily, and I have the "bad" version...

when you first transformed him did you press the button on the top of his hood? cause that activates his automorph feature which springs his cheast piece down. if you don't press that button and force the cheast piece down then you broke it. I did that when I first got bumblebee and I got mad and just bough another one.

I had a similar problem with my Bumblebee - I finally figured out that the problem was that the spring-loaded tab that is supposed to hold the front end in place was not quite fitting flush with the "defective" rotating piece. I fixed this by super-glueing a bit of styrene plastic to the rotator - pictures really say it better:

This fills the gap between the tab and the rotator, allowing the front end to stay "up."

I guestimated the size of the filler part and filed it down to fit just right. It's not a hard fix, and fairly unobtrusive.

    Bumblebee Help

I just got the Deluxe Class Bumblebee '74 Camaro and I can't get it to transform back into the car! The "Automorphing Technology" has you press a button to release the front end of the car when changing it into robot mode, but something's not clicking into place when I change him back.

Have any of you heard of or experienced this? If so, any ideas on how to fix it?

Press the front of the car in place with a bit of force, if it doesn't click on it's own try hitting the button while it's in place and see if it springs back into place then.

I hear you need to follow the instructions EXACTLY as they are written. I don't have the toy (darn local retailers) so I can't say from experience

I've got the "busted" version and I can transform him fine. I just had to press down HARD on the automorph button to "unstick" it, but now it changes fine!

Likewise. I've got the modified version and it's a hard press needed to get the gimmick to activate, but it does work perfectly fine.

Thanks for all of the help (and to whoever moved the post to the appropriate section)! My BB isn't broken, the tab to keep it in place just isn't engaging. I tried pressing the button and holding the front end of the car together, but none of those worked. I did, however, find the tab while he's in car mode that keeps the "Automorphing" from engaging and was able to push it back into place with the tip of an ink pen. I have to do that everytime, but at least I know that I can display him in car mode if I want to now! I couldn't get a clear picture to post, though...

Mine does that sometimes. I usually make sure all the other pieces are in place and then push the hood up a liitle further than I thought it needed. Usually clicks right into place.

Clipping the spring also works. it nullifies the Automorgh feature but it works. The piece pictured above broke completely off and hit me in the eye.

Also: If the above is not the issue check to see if the button is stuck.....it happens and it's a bitch to get back into place.

I ended up exchanging mine for a new one.
