So after moving to Alexandria and spending roughly a month here, we finally decided to do a day in the city. My wife and my two brother in laws went to the National Air and Space Museum (which also had some of the American History Museum exhibits,) drove by the White House, and capped it off with a visit to the Lincoln Memorial.

I must say that seeing these places on postcards or pictures do not do it any justice. I was in awe when we got to the Lincoln Memorial and was just floored.

    I took some pics.

Wow that's so cool that they still have the original clothes Lincoln and Washington wore.

Yeah, amazingly we spent half a day there and only got to see three spots. We're gonna have to do many trips to see it all.
You can still see the blood stains on Custer's jacket.

I hope they hurry up with the renovations at the American History Museum. There's probably a LOT of cool stuff to see.

Wow, nice pics! Looks like you had a hell of a day,I like that you got the pic of Custer's jacket so that you can see the fool's blood on it (Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse FTW).

    Awesome pics.

I was in D.C. for a convention three years ago, almost to the day. I was staying with a guy I know who lives in the area and come day three we said fuck it, put in a brief appearance, and bailed for the day. He of course, sees that shit every day; I hadn't stomped around the capital since I was 4 on a trip with the family. I think I tore ass through 4-5 disposable cameras worth...before a crazy night on the town. That dude knew people friggin' everywhere, a disproportionate number of them hot womens.

I should really give him a call...maybe go visit.

    Fantastic pictures.

That museum is clearly the Museum of Awesome and is far better than the crusty old Mummies and bit's of copper we have in our museums.

I must visit DC one day... It's going on my new list of Places To Go right this second!.

I live about an hour or so from DC. It's amazing, we visit once every few years to look around. There's just -so- much to see there. Did you get a chance to look at the WWII memorial?
