EDIT: PICTURES ARE NOW IN CORRECT ORDER FROM WORK IN PROGRESS TO FINISHED PRODUCT AT THE BOTTOM.

Fortress Maximus has always been a favorite character of mine. I even suggested to Aaron Archer at the Botcon Hasbro panel last year that they make an updated Fort Max character. At the end of the show I caught him at one of his tables and showed it to him up close hoping that it would spark some inspiration. Without further adieu, I present Cybertron Defense Fortress Maximus.

Keeping with tradition, his head is a Headmaster with added sculpy, and it still transforms. I used the front part of Red Alert's head, heavily modified, then attached it to a Headmaster head. FM can still transform as well, just very, very carefully. His chest is partially made of Bendy Prime's under chestplate and my own sculpy sculpting skills for the top part of his chest.

As for A. Archer, he just stared at it and might have given some kind of polite comment, but I can't remember now. I was leaving the show so I interrupted about 4 or 5 people that were waiting on him to draw sketches and autograph them. I showed him my Golden Age Cybertron Primus at the same time so his attention was kinda split.

Interesting Idea for a Classics Fort Max - I like the fact that it's to scale with Energon Scorponok. Looks like the smaller, pre-Headmasters version of Fort Max. Good work!

    Thank you Crobot91.

Maybe if I had called it Classics Fortress Maximus in the title, this thread would have gotten more replies.

Thanks, but I can't take credit for that. It was already present on the Red Alert mold.:)

you know, I don't have the red alert figure, and because that's the first pic, I thought that was what you did. I was like, mmmmmkay. I like what you came up with, however I would suggest taking the couple of minutes to put the wip pics back in the right order, since the final product is so nice.

Never imagined that mold being used for something like this. Great work truly an awesome homage to an awesome G1 Icon.

That's not bad. How come there are 2 different heads? I think the Cybertron Metroplex mold works better for a Fort Max custom though. A couple of people have done that actually and it came out very nice.

    Edit: Here's one

There is only one head. The pictures somehow got out of order when I pushed the submit button. Thanks for your compliment of it not being bad, however, your opinion that the Metroplex mold is better is purely subjective. Viagra Primes custom is simply amazing and I would like to try it too, but there are no rules to kitbashing/customizing. If everything had to be done only one way then that would defeat the purpose of being creative.

Darn, maybe I should take the time and reorganize those pictures...:(

I agree completely that there are no boundaries or rules when it comes to customizing which is the great thing about it. I like to see how different people go about doing it and how different people interpret the art. My opinion of the Metroplex mold being a better suitable mold for a Fort Max custom is purely subjective of course. Anyways it's a good custom, I just don't get a Fort Max vibe from it. But again, that's just my honest opinion.

That finished head is very nice, I was skeptical when all I saw was the WIP shots.

    Awesome custom!

    That is awesome. Good work.

I saw a couple of customs on the japanese boards once that had Cyb. Metroplex kitbahsed into Fort Max, and the mold you used kitbashed into Metroplex. It was really breathtaking and will be the Fort Max/Metroplex that all other kitbashes of those characters will be measured against.
