Thanks guys. The mountain is just stacked half inch insulation foam then carved out using a bread knife, pocket knife and rasp. There is a lot of detail that won't be truly appreciated until the dark washes show all the little crevices. I have seen some of the work G60FORCE and others have done here and I am sure all of you are capable of building this.
This play set is looking fantastic. Your son is very lucky! One of my fondest memories as a kid is when my dad helped me cover my storage closet in blue 'contact' transforming it into a 'TARDIS'. Dads that do things like this are awesome. I'm sure your son is over the moon. I'm pretty impressed that all the carving was done with a bread knife and such as well. The rockiness of the mountain looks perfect. Something I'd imagine seeing in a model train setup.

My Dad once made me a playset for my micromachines with some papier mache and a few toilet rolls. So much love went into that base that it remains one of the happiest memories of my childhood. I'm sure you guys will enjoy this so much
This is epic. I love the concept and execution of this. Great stuff! Ironically, I've been thinking of how to digitally re-create this for my comic. When this is done, would you be willing to take a few shots for me? I would credit you, of course.
No problem. A friend of mine who is a photographer is going to take some nice shots of this when its done. QUICK UPDATE: Put on the first base coat on the mountain and the ark. Very happy with how it came out. Will post up pics later tonight.
