So this weekend I bought a little HD LCD tv for my room. When I bought my 360, I sold my PS2, which was in my room as a DVD player. So I now I have my PSP in my room, hooked up with the component cables to the LCD. This weekend I was streaming my Transformer Animated episodes (via remote play) from my PS3, which was streaming them from my PC. Now if only sony would release a firmware that allowed me to stream DVDs via remote play, the way it does PS1 games. Either way, this remote play deal is getting cooler the more I exploit it. Technology is cool sometimes.

To further enhance your PSP ...

    Sony LocationFree Base Station LF-B10

I recently purchased this at Staples ($35 from $200). It's a Sony SlingBox. Not only can you control and view your own TV (cable, DVR, sat., etc), it streams to your PSP also.

I was watching live TV (late night HBO boobies) on my PSP.

Not to go too OT, but I gotta tell ya ... "Cathouse 2" and "Cathouse: Party" are quite the "documentaries".

heheh, yeah my cousin has one of those. He was visiting Austin a few months ago and was accessing his cable TV from Austin and watching his shows from Houston (not that he couldn't watch them at my place, but why miss out on a chance to show off a gadget).

Awww, do I really need to snap a photo? It's nothing fancy... just my PSP sitting in front of a small LCD screen streaming TF:Animated. I could always have faked it and just be playing TF from my PSP itself. Maybe I can youtube it like some of those people who youtube themselves playing.

And this, my friend, is what Sony was thinking, when they developed the multi-features of the PSP.

What do you guys know about DLNA? I think that's what it's called. If I have a media center PC that records TV shows for playback can the PS3 stream those from the media center PC?

I haven't tried that. Everything I have been streming has all been Xvid-encoded.

I had read somewhere (not sure where) that Sony is planning on allowing streming of some bluray content to PSP. And with the DVR add-on coming sometime. Its only a matter of time before the PS3 and PSP combo will be the sweetest entertainment deal around. Now if only they would allow DRM WMA files (napster) to be streamed! I would be happy!

    Seriously, what a let down.

I still have the old fat PSP so I couldn't do this. Good use of the tech though. I also would like at least DVD playback through remote play, even if BD doesn't happen.

Hahaha, now I feel like such a douche. I wonder why sony hasn't opened up DVD streaming. I mean if you can stream a game that requires constant input and output going through cyberspace, then why not the oneway DVD playback. I wonder if it's a legal thing. I doubt it though. If I own a movie, I can project it on my toilet seat if I want.
