Didn't want to wait (or pay the crazy amount) for Hasbro's solution, so I rolled my own.

As for the wing deco, I dident want to go pure g1, but rather I made a compromise that sticks with the g1 aesthetic, but fits in better with Classics Starscream and Skywarp. Went as far as to pull the pins on the arms to paint the elbow joint. If it looks a bit on the shiny side, its probably because I made a mix of blue and a little silver to make a lighter, shiner blue like the original. I did flub something though, when putting the right arm's pin back in, I dented the shoulder. In the moment, I was so pissed I almost went out and bought another seeker just to replace the part, but I was broke, so I had a cool down period, and it doesn't look so bad in the end.

Also, seeing how this was a Skywarp, I now have a spare Magnus. I thought about coping Redline's Motormaster digibash, if he will give me a reply on that thread. (don't want to spoil his thunder if he still plans to do it) Any ideas on what do do with it?

wow, that looks really REALLY nice. g1 toy colors instead of toon colors, and I like yours better than the other one of this color that was posted within the past week.

Thanks guys. The only paint I used was Testor's acrylics, and to get that tone of blue, I used roughly 1/2 straight blue, and 1/2 silver. I'm not exactly sure the mix, because I was down on blue from a dirge I made for a friend, so I just filled the rest of the way with silver. All I could say, is add a little, paint on somthing, let dry, and repeat till you get desired effect. Once done, it really created an awsome effect, it even has a slight metal-flake quality. As for the grey, pure miracle, I tried mixing up a darker grey for my friends dirge, to match the plastic and factory paint of ram jet, using gloss white, one of the many bottles of Testor's "FT ghst grey" I have collected, and in two tries, bam, perfect factory grey.

A couple things to remember, always let a sample of your mix dry before you settle on it. It can often change a couple shades lighter or darker when it drys. If you have to paint a part that's going to have unavoidable rubbing, like the neck of this mold, lightly sand the surface.

Very nice. In particular, I quite like the blue landing gear.

    This is great kitbashing.
I sure wish Hasbro would be smart enough to get the rest of the G1 seekers
    as classics.

Looks awesome, man. Like everyone else not wanting to pay that astronomical price for the seekers at Botcon, I too am making my own Thundercracker. Maybe even Sunstorm as well. I'm even thinking of creating a couple of new characters for the seekers too...

Just some of the more stressed areas; the outer legs, where the rear stabilizers rub when rotated, and on sides of the landing gear, on the chest, needs it more that you would think.

That gray looks fantastic - I was thinking of using parts from a ramjet and a Skywarp to make Thundercracker, as good as he looks with that shade of gray I'm pretty sure that's what I'll go with now!

I did post some on the first page, 2 posts from the bottom, but heres some more.

Your on the right track with using a Skywarp, the Black is much more forgiving to the blue for paint errors, and lazy steps. For instance, you can leave parts unpainted, and it still fits in, note the black wing connectors. Though the purple is far less forgiving to being painted over. If your feeling lazy, and have the cash, you could pick up a Ramjet, and swap his feet, and forearms with skywarp. (I guess you could then return the resulting bizzaro-jet :D ) (EDIT; just noticed the post above, great minds think alike)

If you need some practice popping out pins, this mold is a great place to start. The chunky, squared off nature of the arms makes it nicely stable for hammering a pin out. For some cheap pin-popper tools, I recomend grabing a cheap set of "precision" screwdrivers, they come in extra thin, and have a wider, flat butt that makes them perfect to hammer the pin.

Over all, this really is a great mold for first timers; You can paint the legs without fear of paint wear when transforming, and its pretty easy to disassemble.
