I know, but he also splits in two, and as I've never owned one, have no idea how much turns into robot, nor how tall it gets...

Thanks to the transformation of his legs, he still stands as tall as other deluxes.

The articulation is is ok. He has a ball joint for the lower arms. At the shoulder is is just as articulated but not with a ball joint. The head turns left and right. No articulation in the waist, but he has ball joints for the legs and just a regular up and down movement to bend the knees.

I'm now going to look for just a regular towline as I've used up all of the ones I got in the last 2 weeks;)

Very nice work, and way cheaper and easier than trying to snag the Botcon article.

Definately... i was searching ebay and a BotCon Ironhide is currentlky at $120+

I got both towlines for 4-6 bucks... throw another 10 bucks for paint, sand paper etc.... i roughly spend $30 making both. This includes the figures, paints, and shipping charges from the both sellers.

You should pick one up. He's a very underrated toy... You can't really connect any other energon bot to his bottom half without making it look rediculous (moreso than other Powerlinked combinations), but on his own, he's a fun toy. I personally think he's the one Energon Deluxe Autobot whose design does NOT suffer from the gimmick.

Plus, he makes a DAMN fine Ratchet/Ironhide.

You're weakening me man, I'm going to have to acquire some Tow-lines and paint and make these two for myself.

I assume you used Krylon Fusion? Did you strip the old paint or do a lot of heavy sanding first?
