Got my second tow line and got to work on it quick. It's a work in progress (WIP)
Lookin good! Don't forget the red cross.
how tall are towlines in bot mode?
small like armorhide?
Naw, he's a deluxe from Energon.
I know, but he also splits in two, and as I've never owned one, have no idea how much turns into robot, nor how tall it gets...
is this what u did w/ the tow-line i sent u =) NICE!! good job.
Thanks to the transformation of his legs, he still stands as tall as other deluxes.
Yeah... thank you very much... my classic autobot army is getting stronger and stronger bit by bit.
Here's my Ironhide repaint for size reference:
how's the articulation? looks like it aint bad... and thanks for the info guys. I might need to get some myself. course, the con's are so horribly outnumbered already...
I like it more than the botcon version.
The articulation is is ok. He has a ball joint for the lower arms. At the shoulder is is just as articulated but not with a ball joint. The head turns left and right. No articulation in the waist, but he has ball joints for the legs and just a regular up and down movement to bend the knees.
I'm now going to look for just a regular towline as I've used up all of the ones I got in the last 2 weeks
Very nice work, and way cheaper and easier than trying to snag the Botcon article.
Definately... i was searching ebay and a BotCon Ironhide is currentlky at $120+
I got both towlines for 4-6 bucks... throw another 10 bucks for paint, sand paper etc.... i roughly spend $30 making both. This includes the figures, paints, and shipping charges from the both sellers.
man, that looks sharp!! I did one two years ago, if anyone's interested in seeing a different take on it. just click on my customs link in my sig. in retrospect, it's a bit sloppy, I hadn't discovered acrylics yet
You should pick one up. He's a very underrated toy... You can't really connect any other energon bot to his bottom half without making it look rediculous (moreso than other Powerlinked combinations), but on his own, he's a fun toy. I personally think he's the one Energon Deluxe Autobot whose design does NOT suffer from the gimmick.
Plus, he makes a DAMN fine Ratchet/Ironhide.
MAN! Hook me up with a Ratchet!
Great job! Nice colors, and a perfect choice of character. I want one! Ironhide is awesome too. Keep it up!
That looks pretty darn good!
You're weakening me man, I'm going to have to acquire some Tow-lines and paint and make these two for myself.
I assume you used Krylon Fusion? Did you strip the old paint or do a lot of heavy sanding first?
