I finally sat down this past weekend and finished of a set of figures Ive been working on. First up my Botcon entry this year. I always like Actionmaster Thundercracker so wanted to do that instead of a standard one which everyone was doing. But I decided to do a TC because I'd decided to do a Thunderclash from Prime and thought a boxset as a companion to Magnus and Skywarp would be cool. Thats when AM TC became the obvious choice.

This set is a kind of Euro exclusive toy/ UK comic homage.

I also finished Magnus as you can see. He came out really well. I especially like the bit of the shield I added casting from a little Magnus thing I got at BC. As with Thunderclash the face isnt perfect.

I always viewed Prime Magnus and Thunderclash as the 3 Autobot leaders of G1 (Rodimus being a later successor) So getting the three of them from one mould I think is really cool.

UM still looks a bit silly because of the red but otherwise I like. Thunderclash isnt quite finished in the truck photos, I still had masking tape on the windows and had yet to day glow orange the headlights, Oh and the roof was still just white. All have been painted since and it looks much better.

Hope you at least get a laugh from seeing these, but would like to hwear some feedback on them as they are the first figures I've ever got round to finishing.

    Original post below.

Ive been working on and off since the new year on these, planning since sometime last year my main focus has been Magnus (With the spare parts I'll do Thunderclash eventually)
UM seems like a pretty popular repaint and I wish Hasbro had put out this version.

Which leg colour looks better, red or white? It's stumping me.

    and vehicle mode

Finally a group shot of all 4 that I'm working on.
Magnus, Arcee, Runamuck and Pre Beast Waspinator (Deluxe sized)

I'd really like some opinions, particularly the legs, so fire away.

SWEET. I've always liked "proper" Ultra Magnus colors as opposed o just "white Prime."

May I ask if that Arcee transforms? And how did you make it?

Thanks for the comments. I think I prefer the red leg the more I look at it. I've gotten bored of white + Magnus, but I dont know. Till I start on Thunderclash I can have a white set and a red set.

Arcee started out as a Sideburn, but all that really left are the arms, shoulder/hip/back car hood joints and skeletal legs. The upper torso and head need replacing. I decided to take it to Botcon last year so finished up the paint on what I had in place. The face looks so much worse in photos for some reason. Its really just sheets of plastic glued and sculpted and epoxy putty and a Bionicles joint at the waist.

It does in theory transform, but I never go as far as attaching the back of the car. At present it all built around Sideburns bumper so that it attaches to the gun, but that was from an old version when the gun would still fit between the legs in car mode. So now the back part just sits in place which doesnt really count.

I can't believe how much I favor garish Euro/G2 colors.

    Your Ultra Magnus is great.

Those G2 ones make me cringe. Which isn't your fault, I just think they are the most god awful color schemes ever.

bah, the board wont let me type in all caps for no apparent reason, and I cant convey the proper emotion without them

but I just wanted to say Euro/G2 colors are the best thing ever, and Thunder Clash is a character I really want to see a new version of

Well it seems you either have to love them or hate them.

I really struggled to find paints to match those colours. Both TC's are much less, erm...bright than the originals, particularly Thunderclash.

I love that Magnus. Where did you get the stomach plate from? and the head? did you sculpt them both?

The stomach plate came from a licensed Ultra Magnus thing I bought at Botcon this year I dont know what it is, about the same height as an actionmaster it has a tube coming out the back and a button on the side to spring it out.I cast the piece from the one on there. It didn't come out perfectly so there is a little chunk missing near the bottom.

The head is Primes with the mask cut off and some epoxy putty to shape the face. I cut up the rest of the head in a few places before adding more epoxy to make the Magnus shaped head.
