My birthday was yesterday and to celebrate I had a Hot Rod cake. I had got the idea from the cake that appeared at the 2010 TFcon. At first I was going to have a carbon copy of that cake, but I thought that cake in my opinion was based on the bankable version of the character. Let have my cake based on the unbankable version - the magenta or fluorescent colors one. So I sent the "blueprints" to the cake make, and yesterday I got this. As I was told the flame and ensignia had use wax paper because the they would try and break any other way. Looking back on the final look, I really wish I had insisted on black for the flame outline instead of red. As for the taste, the cake itself had has a rather funny taste like heavy soy or something. The icing while the orange and yellow taste great, the magenta is a different story. There's just something about pink icing that cause it to taste bitter. I mean linger on your tongue for about an hour bitter. And the magentas used here were no exception. That was something I feared. The strangest thing about this is that I seem to be the only that takes notice to this. Oh well, that's pretty much the cake in a nutshell.
