Well since a few people are showing off their puppies, I figured I would share my haul a horse, I just got him this week! His name is Spider, and he is a 7yr old appaloosa.

The pic is kind of blurry b/c he was far away at the other end of the ring.

Of course if I do give him a show name it would be something like "You've Got the Touch" or "That's Just Prime"

Well for now he is at his previous owners house, they live 4 houses down from me. My parents are getting the permits and clearing the land as soon as they can, but the town said it would take a few months to get the permits for a barn, and we will have a ring. My street is a dead end street, the street turns into a dirt path at the end and you take the dirt path down into a county park that is all bridle paths around a lake. So I will be able to ride in him in my yard and in the park.

A big, hearty congrats to Drippy (you threadjacker you!) as that's WELL worth celebrating.

ILD...My girlfriend and I want to go riding eventually. We know there are stables up in the rural part of Virginia but that seems so damned removed from around here.

Maybe you should come take a vacation in the Hamptons here on Long Island, there is a place that you can go for a trail ride in the woods then you come out on the beach and ride on the shore line. Isn't that romantic for a newly engaged couple ;)  you would have to come soon though soon it will be too cold to be on the beach, it's also only about 2 hours away from NYC.

I am poor. :(  I'm trying to stay local because I figure it'll be less expensive. Thanks for the offer, though!
