I'm very sorry to hear this. I love animals a whole lot; especially dogs. A good dog is truly your best friend, and a valuable member of a family. I've lost a few of my own over the years, and it's always hard. Although Molly is gone, all those happy memories and pictures of her will last forever. I often think of my best friends Buttons and Garfield (he was an orange tabby). Take care.
Its never easy saying goodbye to a family pet I know what you are feeling right now, as I too lost my cat he was 14 when he past and that was 3 years ago I still miss him. Even though I have a new pet its not the same
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss... I grew up with dogs most of my life, so I really know how you're feeling right now. I had a little mini schnauzer named Smokey who was my constant companion for years... my dad even found a photo of the little guy when I got Metroplex for my birthday one year, standing right next to me. Even when my fiancee and I lived in no dog apartments, I had to go to the animal shelter and volunteer time so I could be around dogs. I couldn't imagine a life without them. Over time, you'll come to forget about the pain of the loss and remember more and more the good memories you had. Plus she's no longer in pain from the arthritis... dealing with an animal with health concerns is always difficult. My condolences to you and your family.
<3 Always a good read for someone who's lost an animal. Whenever I talk about big dogs' relatively short lifespans, I'm always reminded of this quote (by Sir Walter Scott): "I have sometimes thought of the final cause of dogs having such short lives and I am quite satisfied it is in compassion to the human race; for if we suffer so much in losing a dog after an acquaintance of ten or twelve years, what would it be if they were to live double that time?" I'm sorry for your loss, Hiraga. Losing an animal is an incredibly painful experience, and it'll take time to fully heal. I still think of animals we've lost years after they're gone and still tear up. Just tell yourself that you gave Molly an amazing life and she's at peace and in no more pain now. I want to hug all of you animal lovers in this thread though, seriously.
Aww thanks. It just makes my heart all melty to see fellow animal lovers get together like this. We all know the pain of losing an animal friend
sorry to hear of your loss. Molly looks like she was a great dog and a loved member of your family. May she R.I.P.
