I havn't been customising transformers for very long,
(this was only my third repaint, and my first real kitbash)
and this was easily my most ambitious project to date...

I picked up a cheap knock off binaltech Dead-end before Christmas, but I wasn't very happy with his slighty crappy colour scheme or the obvious Sunstreaker head.
I tried some subtle repainting, but no matter what i did he still looked like a goth Sunstreaker -_- .
So i decided to resculpt his head into a more recognisable Decepticon,

and once I saw Fredos awesome Alt Screamer made from a viper,
I simply had to make my crappy Dead-end into a seeker.

His shoulder/chest vents and his null-rays are made from random gundam kit parts and his head is a combination of the original head, some plasticard and sculpted green stuff.

I'm not entirely sure if I like the shoulder vents, as they look a little bit too gundammy, but they're only designed to clip-on. so it's no big deal either way.

The knock off had a surprisingly awesome flame pattern deco on the alt mode,
and I couldn't bring myself to destroy it, so I painting it a very tastefull shade of purple instead (I havn't glossed the paint on his alt mode yet so the purple looks a little flat here)

His face and shoulder vents need a little more paint work, his chest needs a faction symbol and the top of the windshield needs some text adding...

But other than that, he's close to being finished now.

    Nice work man!

I actually like the color scheme as it comes originally in alt mode (more on that later/spoiler alert), but what you did here is really nice as well! Great job! :thumb

Simply awesome. Skywarp has always been my favorite seeker, and you've done a great job...I'm in awe of the head, especially since you say you've done little kit-bashing. Do the null rays detach?

Very nice work. I like the vents, they fill in a vacant space that a lot of the alt seekers have, and great job on the null rays and very good job on the paint, works perfectly.

Nicely done! A little more gloss on the alt mode paint apps and he'll look great! Where did you find all those decals?

Woh, thanks for all the kind words guys!

Thanks!. I loved the original flames too.
(they were the only reason i took so long to decide on a repaint)
But that colour scheme didn't fit with any custom I could think of.

I can't wait to see what you've done with yours.
(I just hope it's not so cool that it makes me regret repainting mine ;) )

Yep! i just drilled a small hole into the upper arm and glued a little plastic peg (made from a piece of model sprue) onto the null rays.

The decals were already on the knock off...
But they were (mostly) so cool that I've done my best to paint around them where i had to.

I'll post pictures of his alt mode once I've glossed him next week.

    Thanks again everyone.

I feel ya there. For me, I just knew I didn't want a second "Dead End". I feel that the other MTs are different enough (even with the same head) to be totally different characters, but the black one I had to do something with!

You won't regret your work at all! My solution is quiiiite a bit different than yours, and I think you'll be very happy with each of your own choices (as I am with mine :D ).

Keep up the GREAT work man! :thumb
